Chris Wood Song
Chris Wood Song
Chris deserves his own song and as Our top striker it’s appropriate re revive the 70’s frank Casper song that many older fans will rememberer.(Casper came from Rotherham!)
So for those that don’t know it.....
Chris Wood comes from New Zealand
Eee i eee I o
Chris Wood comes from New Zealand
Eee I eee I o
With a goal goal here
And a goal goal there
Here a goal there a goal everywhere a goal goal
Chris Wood comes from New Zealand
Eee I eee I o. !
Over to you cricket field !!

Chris Wood is a Kiwi
Eee i Eee i o
With one goal here
And two goals there
Here a goal, there a goal, everywhere a goal goal.
Chris Wood is a Kiwi
Afew less syllables in the first line. Makes it abit easier to sing?
Other than that it’s nice & simple.

Re: Chris Wood Song
This forum never changes. Someone comes up with a new song which, although very dated, sounds okay.
Straight away people think ‘hold on, I can do better, I’ll change the words’, so the original, and any alternatives suggested, never take off.

Re: Chris Wood Song
I do think we should involve ‘kiwi’ somehow
Re: Chris Wood Song
As someone who sits in the CFS I know that the majority of supporters in there have trouble with 2 fingered hand signals of more than 1 syllable so most song suggestions just aren't going to take off - with that said, Duffer_'s suggestion of the Daddy Cool song is the most likely to be able to be sung

OK - if we're serious about a song for Chris Wood it HAS to be to this tune...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XKuJUxGntRI
He's like thunder, lightning
The way he scores is frightening
You better watch, watch Chris Wood
happy for improvements...

I'm crap at lyrics, but perhaps...It's like thunder, lightning
The way you love me is frightening
You better knock, knock on wood
He's like thunder, lightning
The way he scores is frightening
You better watch, watch Chris Wood
happy for improvements...

I think every time he touches the ball our fans should just scream 'offside!!'. It will be a bit like how we just to shout 'Whoosh' when Deakin used to lump it forward

Re: Chris Wood Song
Here is one from last year's New Song for Chris Wood thread:-
We could base it on the old Eddie Floyd song "Knock on Wood" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kceiks__PsE" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
We don't want to lose
The next game
That we've got
If we do it will surely
Surely, mean a lot
Coz our striker is better
Than any one we know
He is a wonder
He's like lightening
The way he shoots
is frightening
We better ( clap x3)
Count on Wood
Burnley
We're gonna ( clap x3)
Count on Wood
But I like the Rhythm is a dancer one more as it is simpler and more current.

It’s funny though, because nobody comes up with any ideas, and nobody tries anything at the ground, yet someone posts an idea on here and suddenly 50 posters become lyrical geniuses. Where’s the spontaneity in the ground like years ago? Nobody takes risks anymore unless the top 2-3 clubs sang it first on TV.arise_sir_charge wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2020 8:00 amQuite right, because all good songs are perfect at the first draft.

In fact he scores all the time.

I remember being very impressed with the Wolves fans at Wembley in 1988, especially when they broke out into a deafening rendition of BULLY BULLY - BULLY BULLY. I forget the name of the tune, but why not WOODY WOODY etc?
