DON'T TALK FOOTY AT WORK LADS

Post by tarkys_ears » Mon Jan 27, 2020 11:58 am

...You're discriminating against the birds, even though my missus loves talking about it.

Enjoy this enlightened time white women, you'll be in the firing line soon. Then it'll be "black male privilege" they'll be taking aim at! I wonder what they'll find to come up with in 10 years time, god forbid they ever find a new alien species they can be offended on behalf of!

Cant work out if you comment is aimed at the women in the article or at Tarky's Ears as it could definitely apply to both of them

So on one hand women have to be involved in everything football because they're women and shouldn't feel left out. But now football talk shouldbe avoided because women won't like it.

In that instance, I'd like to complain about my previous workplace that was 70/30 women, and the workplace was often like an episode of loose women. But of course I wouldn't be able to complain about that would I

To be fair there’s nothing more tedious than someone who won’t shut up about football at work

Pretty severe case of penis-envy.

can we add the following to the list of items not to be talked about (for balance):

Love Island
Corrie
Eastenders
Emmerdale
...any f#cking soap

Strickly Come Dancing
...any celeb TV

...any mundane TV (generally anything a bint watches)

Diets - out of the question

Hair - nope

in fact anything to stop the bloody irritating "fairer" sex [I'll include LGBT+XYZ] in that group from uttering anything from their cakeholes would be great, thanks

It's the footy talk that breaks the f#cking monotony of actual work - and that keeps the world going round IMO

I think it's just a slow news day. To be honest equality is quite a good thing. I now don't have to stand up for a woman to sit down. I can swear as much as I like. I don't have to buy a woman a drink or indeed feel the need to always pay for anything. I don't have to let a woman go before me through a door. And I can have a bloody good laugh when they complain and moan about not getting cheaper car insurance and having the same retirement age as men. Welcome to equality girls, you wanted it, you got it.

Note: wives seem to be immune from most of the above, apart from the insurance and the retirement (which my wife never tires of moaning about).

"I have nothing against sports enthusiasts or cricket fans - that's great," she said.

Is cricket not a sport now? When did that happen? ;)

I don't thinkit ever was mate. I have often pondered how anyone could invent a sport that is both boring AND dangerous.

Actually one of my main footy friends at work is female. She has been a season ticket holder at Wigan since she was a kid. Proper footy fan.

Clickbait BBC article.

In the same article it says

"Nevertheless, Ms Francke does not think sports chatter should be banned, just moderated.

She said that good managers should be inclusive and ensure that everyone in their team feels comfortable."

Sports banter is good for business in my experience. Clearly agenda driven nonsense. Laughable.

Basically, it’s just etiquette. Involve everyone you are in company with. Just change the subject.

Unfortunately someone’s decided this is a problem in the workplace when it’s not really an issue at all.

have a suspicion that if a man had said that we shouldn't talk about football in the workplace because women don't get it, there article would have had a significantly different slant ...

If I heard a group of females talking about fashion and lipstick in the workplace I wouldn’t feel ‘excluded’ or expect them to change the subject. Maybe I should decided to be offended as it’s more on trend.

She's barking mad....quoting.chat escalating from var to petting : ) each other on the back chatting about sexual conquests and women feel left out? She sounds the type to be rooting through the drawers and checking your mobile.
