Jordan Sinnott
On loan to Matlock Town from Alfreton Town, Jordan Sinnott was assaulted last night and died this evening having suffered a fractured skull. Just 25, he’s the son of former Bradford City and Huddersfield player Lee Sinnott.
An 27 year old is being detained by the police for what is now a murder investigation.

It’s like the Wild West in a lot of places these days. Very sad and an absolute waste of a life likely inflicted by a waste of space...
Re: Jordan Sinnott
Needless. RIP.

Supposedly a fight involving 8 others, he fallen and banged his head. So sad for all his friends and family
We’ve probably all been involved in a fight at some point in our life’s , it’s scary to think one punch could can ruin so many life’s

Sounds like there was two incidents. Big fight at a pub earlier on then they've all bumped into each other again later on in town going off the police statement.Burnley1989 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 26, 2020 8:49 amSupposedly a fight involving 8 others, he fallen and banged his head. Like I say, from the age of 17-24ish I saw this on a regular basis on nights out, and have seen heads hit the floor hard, it knocks you sick because you know how serious these things can be. It’s the call you dread as a parent.

There were reports that he had died earlier in the day but then the police came out and said he was still alive. He must have sadly passed Away later than was originally reported.LoveCurryPies wrote: ↑Sun Jan 26, 2020 9:23 amI’ve read this several times and still don’t understand.

Re: Jordan Sinnott
Does it really matter when he passed away?
All that matters is that a young man, has needlessly lost his life.
Sadly, his family and friends are left to pick up the pieces, and my thoughts are with them.

I think the issue being that at the time they were on air reporting that he was dead, he was actually still alive.Barry_Chuckle wrote: ↑Sun Jan 26, 2020 10:01 amDoes it really matter when he passed away?

Quite distressing I imagine to hear that, then hear that he's still alive and then to hear again in the evening that he had now passed away.

I'd seen Matlock game at Mickleover had been postponed.
No idea the reason though. Really is a tragic waste.

Two questions.
What the **** goes through someone’s head to film it.
What the **** goes through someone’s head to share it.
Absolutely disgusting on both fronts.
Sorry a third
What the **** goes through someone’s head to want to watch it.

1&2 - I have no idea
3. I didn’t know what it was until the report came through after it had finished.
If anything I just wanted to highlight the fact that the sick individuals who did this will be easily identified and hopefully get the sentence they deserve.

Re: Jordan Sinnott
I think describing them as sick individuals is somewhat harsh. It was a fight (which I think we have all been in at some point - I know I have) and someone has fallen and hit there head badly, could happen to anyone. If that is the case the culprits are probably more upset than you because they stand going to jail on a manslaughter charge after getting in a fight, a fight in which, I'm guessing, the lad who died was taking part. It's a terrible tragedy but one we all have to relflect on when we think about what we have done in the past and how we may have just 'got lucky'.Norfolk Claret wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 11:53 amCricketfieldclarets

no disputing that. Most if not all of us have been involved in fights. I know I have. And we all know the consequences. Heat of the monent and all that. But from the reports online (having not seen it) kicking a guy repeatedly in the head on the ground is pretty sick and rarely if any excuse for that. As is filming it.

Not sure about anyone else and I haven't seen the footage but lets suppose that someone has already called the police and also lets suppose that the person filming the incident knows this - I'd say that videoing the incident with their phone is the right thing to do to provide the evidence to the police. I certainly would try to intervene, but then I'm a bloke capable of handling myself in a difficult situation - perhaps the person filming didn't feel safe to intervene and did what they thought was right to help.cricketfieldclarets wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 2:35 pmOr they could have just rung the police and still identified them!
Of course the footage should never make it to public consumption like it has, but again there's nothing to say the person filming actually shared the footage in the first place.
You cant always assume that a person filming these types of incidents are wrong.

I haven't seen the video (and don't want to) but if that is the case then it puts a different light on it, it's just that at the time of my post it looked like just a terrible accident (avoidable of course but nevertheless not intended). Perhaps we should await the report from the police.cricketfieldclarets wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 2:38 pmno disputing that. Most if not all of us have been involved in fights. I know I have. Maybe I’m a cynic. But it’s increasingly common that people film this sort of thing for no reason other than to share for attention and likes.Zlatan wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 3:01 pmNot sure about anyone else and I haven't seen the footage but lets suppose that someone has already called the police and also lets suppose that the person filming the incident knows this - I'd say that videoing the incident with their phone is the right thing to do to provide the evidence to the police. If they have basically kicked him to death then absolutely, without a doubt, but if he fell and hit his head it would be manslaughter. As I say I haven't seen or officially heard what happened so I wouldn't know.

It’s a good job somebody did film it. The culprit can have no defence, this was pure murder.

I had thought the same. I know they can do. Without seeing this I suspect possibly not in this case. But it is common that they don’t want any evidence in the public domain. At the very least it helps form any sort of defence as the accused will have access to it. Or their solicitors / barristers will.TheFamilyCat wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 7:25 pmI'm no expert but can't social media posts and especially videos jeopardise the trial?
