£9million
Re: Brownhill having medical
I've only just realised he's the pne player that scored a long range free kick against us when he was 19 years old.

"At home with Josh"

He seems a well grounded sensible lad from this footage.
Can't promise him a similar view from his home though !!!

I think Bristol want Wells as they really need a goalscorer. Wells is in good form and it also stops a rival like Forest signing him.Milltown1882 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2020 2:26 pmRumours floating about that West Ham have hijacked the deal.. could be a long afternoon
If they accepted West Hams offer, they'd have to find another goalscorer to sign which wouldn't be easy this late in the window. I doubt they'd be able to sign a proven championship goalscorer because none of their rivals would sell to them. It's lucky for them that Wells was on loan because QPR wouldn't have sold to them.
I'd be very surprised if it happened and even more surprised if there was any truth in it.

Hopefully no truth in it but Brownhill and Wells are separate deals apparentlyFirthy wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2020 2:51 pmI think Bristol want Wells as they really need a goalscorer. Wells is in good form and it also stops a rival like Forest signing him.

In London.
Re: Brownhill having medical
It still gives us a bit of power though. We can tell Bristol if we don't get Brownhill then we'll sell Wells to someone else.Milltown1882 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2020 2:55 pmHopefully no truth in it but Brownhill and Wells are separate deals apparently
Re: Brownhill having medical
Not as simple as that, if the player has any say, of course. A club cannot force their player to join Club A, if the player prefers Club B for example?

He's unlikely to get much game time at West Ham, and we really need a new midfielder, a no brainer for me, but I'm not Josh Brownhill.

Re: Brownhill having medical
BBC says it’s done, that’s good enough for me.
Clearly been interested in him for a while. He’d be a bit daft to go to a club that have turned to him on a whim, and are much closer to relegation than us. If he does, so be it.

Re: Brownhill having medical
Yeah, if Brownhill suddenly decided he didn't want to sign for us there's not much us or Bristol could do about it. I'm confident it's going through though!

Re: Brownhill having medical
Why though. He is obviously surplus to requirements and I wouldn't call him a high goalscorer and certainly not at all with us. No point keeping a player if he isn't going to be used, and he obviously isn't. We get 4m, save on his wages and the lad gets to go where he might actually play most of the time. Everyone's a winner.williamjblazkowicz wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2020 9:32 amBristol City have our pants down if Wells is only going there for £4mil. Hope it's more than that!

If he goes to West Ham it must be because he loves playing his football in the Championship

Re: Brownhill having medical
Nothing of any substance on social media regarding West Ham - only one from around 7 hours ago that we'd seen off a late attempt by West Ham. Which suggests it's recycled news from early this morning.

Edit: He enjoys playing Werewolf as well, top pick if you have a lot of players.

Great news, well done BFC.
Re: Brownhill having medical
Hopefully get this over the line.
Re: Brownhill having medical
No news yet. Only the WHU spoiler.
Re: Brownhill having medical
Still where it is though!
Re: Brownhill having medical
This is worse than waiting for a woman
Re: Brownhill having medical
Considering his medical was earlier and still no news from BFC, either he hasn't signed and is checking out WHU or our press dept has fallen down a big hole!

or maybe it's just taking the creative team a while to come up with a video better than the one they did for Crouch

Re: Brownhill having medical
Let's have this in context - I'm pretty sure the medical was stated to be this afternoon, which sort of makes sense if you consider that it's likely he was in Bristol last night (presuming that the reports were accurate in that that was when the fee was agreed) so had to drive up to Manchester for the medical this morning.
Every chance that confirmation will not be given until the morning.
Re: Brownhill having medical
Or likely been hijacked by our media team to create a cool launch video for social media..

Always seems to take an age to get them photographed holding a shirt or a scarf. They probably have to wait while some one pops down to the club shop and buys one with a bucket full of change.

Re: Brownhill having medical
How long do people think these multi million pound deals take? It's not just a case of turning up and signing a piece of paper, if it's correct it wasn't agreed till last night, I guess it will be tomorrow
