Dawson would be a good swap, covers 2 positions.

Don’t forget who the manager of Watford is ... known for throwing his weight around.

Messi of course would be the easiest player acquisition in the clubs history & aiming for the stars would represent champions league football qualification every single season without exceptionDown_Rover wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2020 4:05 pmI have a great idea.
With all the experts on transfer dealing on this board, why don't we offer Mr Garlick the benefit of our experience. We could elect a committee to represent the intelligence on here and to replace Mr Rigg. If it works well we could replace Dyche as well.
Seems to me to be the only sure fire way of making sure we never make another mistake in the transfer market and that we pick the best team every week
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS Jan 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Hasn't Dawson played quite regularly for them this year? Wouldn't really make much sense on their part.
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS Jan 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Dawson would be the only logical swap IMO, but I can't see Watford letting him go. I don't see it happening.
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS Jan 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Of MACCA's 7 names, Hart, Vydra and Gibson haven't been 1st team starters for a long time and Bards, Lennon, Brady and Hendrick we probably see no more than 2 in the starting line up at any time.
EDIT: and haven't we already for Joe Hart's replacement with us - and, just added Josh Brownhill for midfield...
So, maybe re-building isn't so great an ask?

If players go then the slots need filling. I think we should look to replace squad players with first team players. Your current first team players then become squad players. That's how you improve.

No choice but have to - been banging on about this for 12 months as dont see the plan we have going forward

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS Jan 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
does anyone really expect anymore players to arrive today? If so why? I'm thinking that's it.
Outgoings possibly but also doubtful in my mind unless some money gets thrown our way, no don't think so.

It would be a surprise if we sign anyone else. You never know though.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS Jan 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
I will say again. Gibson out without a replacement is suicidal. Ditto Vdrya. However, we have done it before. So who knows. A Board so cautious has sometimes been so the opposite. I know one thing nearing 40 pts will be needed to stay up this time.

Watford release Prodl. He could do a bench job for us. Not a great player but a solid pro.

Course it is, the agent will be on a commission based arrangement, wouldn't surprise me if he had a whisper in gold/sullivans ear & something along the lines I'll see what I can do wink wink, he'll do the same thing with Steve parish & cash will be king as always.
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS Jan 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)

I can understand football clubs trying everything at their disposal to acquire a player on deadline day but not to get rid of one.
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS Jan 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Hmmm, coincidence or more to it? 32 year old, experienced, free, been injured a bit....could easily see us taking him on a deal until end of season.Tricky Trevor wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2020 7:31 pmWatford release Prodl. He could do a bench job for us. Not a great player but a solid pro.

Agree. Probably putting two and two together. Just seems strange that Nixon has mentioned we're trying to do a swap with Watford. I would imagine they're reluctant to give us Dawson, so it seems a bit fishy releasing Prodl at this stage. I hope we're not going to let Gibson go and bring this bloke in but we'll see soon enough.Blackburn_Claret wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2020 7:38 pmRidiculous signing if true. Played 3 games since 17/18.

I'd only swap him for Hughes, Deulofeu or Doucoure, other than that old Ostritch face can **** offNickBFC wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2020 7:42 pmAgree. Probably putting two and two together. Swap Gibson for Gray, sign Prodl on a 6 month deal after the window closes, then flog Vydra to Russia before their deadline ends.
Bish, bash, bosh.

No way Watford will swap a player that SD thinks is good enough so file under "not going to happen"

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS Jan 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Be nice to get a Centre Back in who actually puts pressure on Tarkowski and Mee and challenges them for a starting place
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS Jan 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Gibson is good enough to do that, it's just Tarks and Mee are undroppable. That's the tricky bit, we need someone who is good enough to step in if needed, but also happy with not playing. Its not that easy.randomclaret2 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2020 8:06 pmBe nice to get a Centre Back in who actually puts pressure on Tarkowski and Mee and challenges them for a starting place

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS Jan 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
It would surprise me. I think we have already done more than we planned to do at the outset of the window. Our table position and results, prior to notching up our last two wins which were fantastic, along with the unexpected departure of Drinkwater probably caused a shift in our planned strategy. The emergence of the potential for a Brownhill / Wells deal then propelled us into action.
At the moment I think we are like
Which is fine by me, but we need to be more pro-active next Winter. Challenges are to be faced not feared.

Our someone young that sees like Tarky did that he will step up pretty soon. This is inevitable because Tarky is pure class and sadly will soon move on.

I would have liked us to be the one signing Luke Matheson for £1m from Rochdale.
Small fry by even championship standards and a lot of potential to be playing first team football aged 17.

Late working for medics and fax operatives.
By the end, the medic must just ha e time for a 99 and a squeeze!

Yes there is, a big difference. Injury or sending off and they’re on. Dunne is far from the required standard (yet).

How long will Sean Dyche put up with this? It's utterly disrespectful

Increasingly Very little of any significance happens in January. There’s some absolute dross bought and sold (at inflated prices and wages) by some panicky sides like villa, West Ham and the whole window can be summed up by united getting Idahlo (sp).burnley007 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2020 9:25 pmLooks like another pitiful effort from the board...again.

We’re not desperate by any means and think we’ve done well to sell Wells, acquire Brownhill and lose Drinkwater.
I don’t know why I’m still surprised by the negative and usually incorrect bashing of the club but some of the stuff, particularly by a small group on Twitter is bloody appalling and pig ignorant.

We had to sell Wells to fund the Brownhill signing. With nearly 4 transfer windows of doing **** all, that can't be right.Holtyclaret wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2020 9:52 pmIncreasingly Very little of any significance happens in January. Fu&k all that sees us a few points off Europe and on 30 points in January.
If a player ticks all the boxes, like Phillips the money will be there but if a player doesn’t we won’t go for them, like Bowen.

Should have got rid of Hart to free the money up, bpf is more than a able deputy for this level, Wells will come good even at PL level as a sub, wells value will stabilise or increase, harts will nosedive.
