This - if anyone has ever stolen a living it is this lump

McGuiness ticks the 'thick, northern, white working class male' stereotype needed for the media

The OP as already mentioned has an irrational hatred for Paddy McGuiness.
He thinks he’s intellectually above him and other people on this board - yet regularly decides to start a thread debating that learned scholar and philosopher P. McGuiness - he was going to choose Dostoyevsky but stuck with PM.
Muchacho is serving another of his regular bans now for libellous comments he made another thread which were complete and utter lies.
When he’s served his ban we can look forward to a new topic on Duncan Norvelle.
That's hilarious if true!

It’s true ok - but wasn’t that hilarious tbh.
Totally unprovoked attack and complete meltdown from Muchacho - the guy needs help and I honestly don’t know what it takes to get a permanent ban on this board.
Any other walk of life you can’t get away with saying what he said - but sat beyond his keyboard he thinks he can.

I won't ask you what he said, as I don't want to get you into trouble, but which thread was it?

It couldn't happen to a nicer fella

Never mind, he can watch his OFAH box sets in the meantime.

The thread was pulled.
Can’t remember the title - it was a new one that only went on last night.
One thing that is concerning is that when a thread is deleted there is apparently no way of retrieving the data - which I find unbelievable given if a post is libellous you need the data for evidence to take action.
Next time he has a meltdown remember to take a screenshot before he gets banned again and the thread is deleted !

I don't personally like Corden but how can anyone criticise him when he has not only been a success here but landed one of the most lucrative jobs on American TV, with all the dosh that brings. Simliarly PM is not my cup of tea but I don't see anyone on here making millions from presenting rubbish telly shows and laughing at us all.
I suppose we all like a good rant but to criticise others who are far more rich and successful than us for being 'talentless' is just a touch ironic and smacks of a certain level of bitterness.

Humour is a fickle mistress. Sometimes something is funny, other times it isn't. Some people inexplicably like Mrs Brown's Boys, though I've never met anyone who will admit it.

Paddy M is the same. He was brilliant in Max and Paddy and Phoenix Nights, and I don't mind him on Top Gear. I hate Take Me Out but then I don't think it's aimed at 44 year old married men.

Don’t see the problem with Paddy McGuiness at all. His brand of humour is popular and remember it takes a clever man to play the fool.
He must be a genius then!

Is there anybody as talentless as this guy who has stole a living?

Katie Hopkins is of course another, but it really is a head-shaker.
Peter Kay made him and others and even resurrected tge career of Tony Christie. Peter Kay is talented and funny.

I've watched one of his stand ups on DVD, well about 10 minutes of it. It was so so bad, though the fact he had the balls to get on stage and actually perform it given how awful it was deserves some credit

No as he's got a talent. :D

I seem to remember Paddy McGuiness doing a gig at the Mechanics in Burnley and people were shaking their head at how bad he was. Even worse than Derek Acorah.
I was there for that gig. Walked out after 20 mins.

It was basically all the extras from Phoenix Nights, minus Dave Spikey and Peter Kay.

Clearly, they were riding on the coat tails of the success of Phoenix Nights, but hadn’t realised they weren’t responsible for aforementioned success.

Truly shocking evening.

Paddy M (and Ant & Dec for that matter) happen to have an easy going charm/warmth which they can maintain on TV and have monetised very effectively. Good luck to them.

Am sure too that he was a terrible stand up before finding his niche as a presenter

We should be celebrating that they have allowed fellow Red Rose Northerners on the telly.

The new Top Gear has not one but two Northerns, and is pretty decent too.

We had a comedian do a gig at a W/M club about 4/5 years ago on his way back from Edinburgh (he had just done a few gigs at the festival on the fringe circuit. Some were saying he was the next big thing) ... his act consisted of banging a beat on a cardboard box and pseudo-rapping about him and his girlfriends relationship problems.

He was absolutely terrible and when a couple of us turned our back on him and sat chatting at the bar, he stopped and walked off stage got in his car and buggered off....

About a week later someone had spotted him on facebook or twitter or something slagging the club off

Thing was somebody had filmed part of his act on their phone... so they posted that up pointing out just how bad he was.... never heard of him since anywhere... so I think he obviously realised comedy was not for him.

As A James Corden fan, I have to point out to Hopey 1786 that James Corden has been around well before Gavin and Stacey and pretty much everything he has been involved in has been a success.

As A James Corden fan,

That is some conversation starter...While I’ve no feelings either way for ( the now rather wealthy) tubby tryhard . Can it be possible to actually be “ a fan”? I vaguely remember him playing a young ogre type in an earlyish Steve Coogan vehicle set on a cruise ship , it was bloody awful though not Cordens doing

Fair play to him. He is very wooden as a comic and his third rate Peter Kay personality can be grating but he does seem like a nice guy and if tv want to pay him so be it.

James Corden, stage actor, film actor, tv actor, co-writer of Gavin and Stacey, presenter of tv shows, host of live tv events and apparently very much in demand. Obviously more popular than you think. Do not take a throwaway Piers Morgan comment cloud your judgement of him as a man. People ‘in the business’ are eager to be associated with him and his tv show#.
