Looks a really good prospect - seen him play 2 or 3 times now and he looked very young compared to the others but not only was he a very good finisher but he was brave and giving it back to defenders much bigger than him.

Seems like he has been out with an injury for a while - hopefully nothing serious.
He seems to have the potential to play for the first team one day.

Saw a lttle cameo of him at Gawthorpe when out walking last year. Hope he continues to progress as he looks promising and would be great to bring another through the ranks.

Could he be the next McNeil & be fast tracked through to the 1st team?

Good News. There is so much to love about our club just now and so many signs pointing to a bright future. Long may this continue.

Well done Lewis, keep up the good work!

Good news on both these signing deals. Hopefully Richardson might make the bench towards the end of the season once we are safe.

Blimey the lads just turned 17,give him a chance to develop first,we don't want to ruin a promising career by pushing him forward too quickly,it's great that he's signed a long-term deal, and hopefully he'll return from injury this season and get more game time with the u23's,but it's a big step asking him to play regularly in the PL,it's possible if we're safe that he'll get a short cameo, similar to McNeil against Bournemouth in our last match of 2017-18.

Definitely so. He has been given a pro contract on the earliest possible date, his 17th birthday. The club could just as easily waited until after his youth contract finished which, as I think he is still a 1st year scholar, would have been summer 2021.

If he's good enough he's old enough.
Rooney and Owen spring to mind.

Out of interest, if he does get into the first team squad now, aged 17, would he have to have a sponsorless shirt?

Still some muscle to put on, but he's still difficult to knock off the ball now, playing against bigger lads.
That's just one of his attributes you notice.

You really cant beat a player coming through the ranks. They are given that rarest of commodities in football patience and time.

I personally can't get worked up about this lad, he is only 17

To many distractions for a young lad at this age, he has to be totally dedicated to make the grade

Sometimes young players get ahead of others because of their physique, being bigger or quicker than other players of the same age, and when the others catch up physically then they drop back to the same level. That’s definitely not the case with Lewis Richardson.

Yep. That's right. Why I mentioned it.
He's an impressive young player.
Could have added he's got a great eye for goal, shields the ball well, and he's got a bit of that weird 'hovering' stunt that Fletch used to do going up for a header :)
