Post by bfcjg » Fri Feb 07, 2020 11:58 pm

Had a slice of home made cake after tea and I voluntarily went into the kitchen for a fork first time ever eaten cake with a fork incidentally. I just didn't want crumbs on myself and the carpet. Kids stunned.Only recently it was sod it stuff it in but come on a fork FFS. I knew I shouldn't have voted Tory.

Ive stopped blowing my nose on the tablecloth, so that must've improved my social standing somewhat .

Talking of forks, how do some folk eat their dinner or tea whilst sat on the settee in front of the tele, with just a fork?

You need a knife you freaks.

Is the sitting at a dining table for meals like a human being for another thread? Or can I rant about that on here as well?

Broken Britain means folk not eating at a dining table and just using a fork to eat.

As a young fella putting my morning papers together a guy walked into the shop and blew his nose down his tie. Uurrgh!! He didn’t even really try to hide himself either.

We all eat at the dining room table, no phones or tv. Both my children are young so it’s feeding time at the zoo anyway.

Before the kids were born we would sit and watch tv with our tea to be fair, wouldn't go back to that now though. A pizza takeaway might sneak into the living room on a weekend every now and then

I haven't become more middle class as I age, but my wife has.

She has started to object every time I belch, pick my nose, ears or teeth,
and when I fart goodness me!

What has happened to her?

Whilst I don't often sit at a dining table, nowadays, my pet hate is folk eating with a fork, like the cowboys in the wild westerns! The most slovenly American habit, imported by the UK!

Well when she was very much in love, that probably outweighed the small annoyances to the extent that she was prepared to say nothing even though it was an irritant.
I'd say that the scales have moved on a bit so that there is less to balance what now grates on her nerves and she notices that other men don't appear to do that sort of thing.
Of course, they probably do, but not in her face all the time.

I don't know if the older I get, the more middle class I become, but I'll tell you one thing that utterly pisses me off; people coughing and making no attempt whatsoever to cover their mouths. I seem to notice someone doing this every time I step foot into a large shop or supermarket and usually they're standing right next to me.

We are in for a rough time if the Coronavirus turns into a pandemic.

A knife is not just used for cutting food, it's also used for pushing food on to the fork.

Like rice for example.
