Bournemouth request investigation into Jon Moss

Post by Zlatan » Wed Feb 12, 2020 10:51 am

not sure what to make of this - but if he has done what is alleged then he needs reprimanding at the least and possibly striking off - ref's are meant to remain impartial surely.

I'd be surprised if the ref said anything too controversial, he'd've been miked up and recorded & well aware of that.

Having said which... the way players yap at and aggressively confront refs, it must be tempting to have a dig back sometimes.

Cherries getting desperate now.

Dan Gosling? Maybe Moss was having a word with how easily he goes down when no one touches him.

The yellows for Surman and Wilder were a disgrace. A yellow for a player can completely change the way he plays. A yellow for Wilder is completely different it makes no difference to how he goes about managing the game.

You have to think Bournemouth are gone now, that's a terribly weak minded thing to do.

Reporting a ref for having a few words back? Soft gits.

I used to love the banter with refs and umpires in sport. There was one umpire who after turning down LBW appeals would tell the bowler, I can't give him out he's my son. Or that weren't out it was going under the stumps. Wound the bowlers up but everyone would laugh about it.

That was down to the fourth official though. Interesting comments from Wilder though afterwards, suggesting he wasn't happy with their on pitch antics.

Same as all their other games then. Almost as bad as Arsenal.

Not surprising.
I wonder if we’ve started talks with them about next weeks game to see if they are ok with us challenging for headers this time.

Pathetic by Bournemouth - especially when you consider how that obnoxious t-it Jason Tindall bounces about his touchline every single week antagonising officials, opposition benches etc.

Little baby faced Eddie allows all this to happen on his watch....and him and the club are slowly getting found out for the type of club they really are. There will be nothing good for them out of the action they are taking here - it might mean a reprimand for Jon Moss but how do Bournemouth think the other referees and officials are going to react to this ?

most premier league referees talk more to opposition players than to Clarets. Was inside Number 9 based on this incident?

Might just ring out at our next home game.

Might even get the ref on our side for once.

True, especially if it's early on I've noticed more & more are getting subbed especially if it's a tight game, you could be down to 10 with say 50/60 or more to play & the double whammy with suspended, I noticed the other day VAR rescinded the ward red card against Sheffield United in the palace game, if you are not sure better taking your time & having another look at the replay.

I thought he was spot on with the yellows. Two guys going face to face like that he had to act. As there was nothing physical he couldn’t give a red, so yellows for me.

This reflects badly on B’mouth not Moss. As said higher up the players are always abusing refs good on him for giving some back. He’s gone up in my eyes.

If you don’t think it’s wrong you can’t have played and experienced it. When you are tired, pumped up and under pressure and have a referee goad you it’s completely wrong! I’d also be fuming

Pathetic from Bournemouth. They were an embarrassment against us in December. They wasted at least ten mins rolling around after good tackles...nowhere near enough time was added on for it which was great as we scored right at the death...

As for Jon Moss they do need to investigate him to confirm whether or not he actually is a referee....

No action against Bournemouth or Gosling, but I think that the referee "band of brothers" will have taken great interest in this, and will not be impressed by Bournemouth's behaviour. Of course they will remain neutral, but I suspect they'll keep a closer eye on the players' antics on the field and it won't do them any favours. (Hope I'm correct).

Sort of thing you expect more from Brighton , though these south coast pussys are much of a muchness . Always remember Stoke and their fans had a torrid night in Turkey in a Euro game and when asked if they’d be filing a full report /complaint Pulis replied “ no we’re Stoke “

I can only imagine how furious a fair number of Burnley fans would have been if a ref had been saying the same to our players.

Would you be furious if a referee said something back to players who had spent the whole game giving the referee abuse or complaining about decisions or trying to deceive the referee by diving about etc ?
There are plenty of referees who have told players to shut up or get up and no doubt lots of other things.
Bournemouth and baby faced Eddie with his obnoxious hatchet man Tindall have become quite the experts at the dark arts and I doubt we see a fraction of the abuse officials get every week not just by Bournemouth but at most games (and Dyche and Woan are pretty good at getting in an officials face too)

I think it would take a hell of a lot more than what Moss said for Dyche and Burnley to put forward an official complaint. Luckily the complaint has been thrown out for what it is.

They may have said similar things, who knows. We’re never likely to find out as it’s not the sort of things our players or manager would whinge to the media about.

Thank god sarcasm hasn’t yet become a hate crime as this is exactly how Bournemouth initially described this “outrage “ Eddie feeling the pressure and not just from his Mrs who allegedly makes him eat his cornflakes in the garden in a romper suit and bib everytime they lose.

I wouldn't be furious and I doubt the club would make a complaint but that isn't what I said. We already have a variety of fans on here who complain because a pundit wasn't complimentary enough, an opposition manager celebrated too much, etc They'd be up in arms if there were reports of a ref doing this kind of thing to Burnley.

Doesn’t matter then - if these fans exist then presumably they will always find something to be unhappy with if you think that a ref talking back to the players gets them angry.

Main thing is most fans would not care a toss - and neither would SD or the players.

Rumour has it Bournemouth are seeking an injunction to prevent Tarky play because he's a tough Northern defender who thinks it's okay to challenge for the ball in the air.

No fan of moss by any stretch of the imagination, even AFTER his masterclass at OT, but refs get a shed load of abuse from players and fans alike, fair play if he’s had a word given a little back and got under their skin.
They constantly cheat and lie to gain an advantage which makes the refs job even harder so ‘fair play fatty’ I say.

Reminds me of a story I heard Frank Worthington say at a dinner.

He nutmegged Chopper Harris and was promptly told if he did it again he would get both his effing legs broken. Frank turned to the ref and asked if they had heard it. The refs response was along the lines of 'Chopper wasn't talking to me, so I don't care'.

David Allison used to relate that story too
