Danny Ings
Cracking goal. And fair play to come back from the injuries and play as well as he has.
Disgusting celebrating like he did though against his old club. Shows how much contempt he had for Dyche and the club.

Re: Danny Ings
He deserved to celebrate like he did
Fantastic goal against your old club
Especially after gifting us a goal at start

"Disgusting"
Re: Danny Ings
Why does it show contempt? He's just scored a decent goal and giving one away! Contempt for Dyche, classic CFCcricketfieldclarets wrote: ↑Sat Feb 15, 2020 1:26 pm. Shows how much contempt he had for Dyche and the club.

I don't think it's disgusting. As Austin said when he played there scored and celebrated for them. "I play for Southampton now, not Burnley".
Imagine scoring for the team you support!

Re: Danny Ings
Don’t have an issue with it.
Danny was an employee for us and was superb, he’ll always get a clap from me as he was absolutely key to getting us into this position with that 13/14 season. Magical time.
Good luck to him.

Nowt wrong with that.
Great strike. Great player. Recent talk of ex players returning, only Danny Ings out of any ex forwards would I consider. Superb No 10

Am sure people can see the sarcasm in the OP (although Cricketfield does have a bit of a rep for such comments )

I’ve got a lot of time for Danny and I’m very pleased he’s got his career back on track. If he scores against us c’est la vie, it’s what strikers do and he’s a good striker.

Re: Danny Ings
I was chatting with a Southampton supporting colleague at work on Thursday. He said he hoped Jay Rod played well for us today - he always has a "soft spot" for him. I responded that Danny Ings was a great servant for Burnley. We agreed that 1-1 with both Danny and Jay scoring would suit both of us.

Hope he carries on his form for the rest of the season and makes the Euros.
He might even end up back at one of the top clubs.
Will always be a clarets hero.

Re: Danny Ings
Short memories on here Danny played a major role in our 1st promotion under Dyche, and he choose to move onto Liverpool once his contract ended, sadly mainly due to injuries he never had the impact at Anfield his early form promised, now he's finally getting a decent run injury free he's showing how much ability he possesses,he must be in Gareth's thoughts for the summer,in light of the injury crisis affecting English strikers just now.

Also not taken a penalty for five years before that! Doubt very much he was assigned to take it. Only player who had the bottle to step up maybe

Re: Danny Ings
I still don't accept that he is. I just see him as someone who is frustrated and desperate to play, knowing full well his opportunities are going to be limited here.Blackburn_Claret wrote: ↑Sat Feb 15, 2020 5:26 pmHe knows everything don't question him, he also knew Gibson wasn't a bad egg remember
That's very different from being a major disruption to the rest of the players or a danger to anyone's safety.
Depends how you define bad egg, I guess.

Vydra is frustrated and desperate to play. He got his chance today and took it. Sometimes you have to wait for an opportunity and take it.fidelcastro wrote: ↑Sat Feb 15, 2020 5:34 pmI still don't accept that he is. Ings was a great player for us , and I believe every player should celebrate a goal for his present team no matter who it's against .

Re: Danny Ings
Although limited opportunities, he's had more game time than Gibson (certainly this season). That's always likely, as it's generally far more common for a fellow forward to be substituted and replaced during a game than a defender.Blackburn_Claret wrote: ↑Sat Feb 15, 2020 5:38 pmVydra is frustrated and desperate to play. Ironically it was a forced change due to injury today though.

Re: Danny Ings
Gibsons lack of game time is down to his own behaviour and the excellence of our cantre halves. Had one got injured Kevin Long would've been in before him even if gibson wasn't 'injured'
Re: Danny Ings
I saw ings offered the ball and walk away, the facts Blackburn claret has given you show that Taylor would not have been down to take that penfidelcastro wrote: ↑Sat Feb 15, 2020 5:29 pmAll you will have seen is Taylor taking a penalty, slipping and subsequently missing.
It doesn't alter the fact he was the assigned penalty taker that day.

He's had his own injury problems too which haven't helped. All round it's just not worked out, but I still don't accept that makes him a "bad egg"!
