Madam Desai ... funny lady!
Madam Desai ... funny lady!
I saw a Tony Mowbray Twitter feed the other day he said Madam Desai had rung him to congratulate him on the win over Hull she then said "Tony do you know how to make a small fortune by owning a football club" he said no and she replied "start with a large fortune" he said he laughed and so did she but not as loud, bit of dark humour I thought it was funny.

The Venky's " invested another £5m+ in January into t'Rovers, bringing their total to £180,067,231 in less than 9 years ..... I'm not sure I'd be quite so sanguine about effectively losing £385,000 a week, every week for 9 years !!
Re: Madam Desai ... funny lady!
She actually did say that this week I don't follow Tony Mowbray but a couple of mates, yep Rovers fans were checking on Mowbrays time at Coventry the Twitter thing was current under his profile, of course it's almost a standard joke I thought it just gave an insight to how the Venky's feel about their tied in situation, I don't think we are feeling too sorry for them are we!

If that’s correct it is truly astonishing.Clarets4me wrote: ↑Sat Feb 15, 2020 10:13 amThe Venky's " invested another £5m+ in January into t'Rovers, bringing their total to £180,067,231 in less than 9 years ..... And Rovers fans still hate them???...

Surely FFP must come into the reckoning soon?
Re: Madam Desai ... funny lady!
I have often wondered why they continue to plough funds in to Deadwood. They never visit, obviously have no feeling for the club, its fans or even football. Strange unless they can write off the losses to their advantage.Clarets4me wrote: ↑Sat Feb 15, 2020 10:13 amThe Venky's " invested another £5m+ in January into t'Rovers, bringing their total to £180,067,231 in less than 9 years ..... £35,610,000 was introduced into Venky's London Ltd on 4th May 2011, presumably for the purchase of the Club and provide initial working capital.scouseclaret wrote: ↑Sat Feb 15, 2020 10:17 amIf that’s correct it is truly astonishing. And Rovers fans still hate them ???...
Since then, a further £144,457,231 has been ploughed in by the way of further shares being issued ...
It's effectively £56,095.71 a day .....

I think only the thickest window lickers among the Rovers fans will object to Venkys involvement now.
Most have twigged, if there's no Venkys, there's no Rovers.

It is a parody account. It was previously Shebby Singh..
Re: Madam Desai ... funny lady!
I know its a pretty simplistic view but with Corporation tax in India at slightly above 34% a 150 million sterling injection into Venky's London gives the venkys a potential tax saving of over £51 million sterling. At the same time they are building up their asset base in Venky's. The problem for them has to be at what level would anyone actually buy out their shareholding. Are BRFC worth £185 million?
