I would like to finish with more points than Arsenal.

Re: How many points will we get to?
I'd guess mid 40s. Once we get safe (at 40+) we've have a tendency to tail off and lose our edge a bit as the season end approaches.
Should be enough for topish of the bottom half though.
Would be great to get 50 and finish above one or two of the "big" teams though; especially (as mentioned) Arsenal.

45/46 easily.
Re: How many points will we get to?
From our current position it would be disappointing if we don't make every effort to get into Europe as we've got as much chance as the likes of Wolves, Sheff U, Spurs, Everton, Man U. etc.LeadBelly wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2020 1:29 pmI'd guess mid 40s. It's not as though we are riding our luck.

Re: How many points will we get to?
Just glanced at the remaining fixtures and i calculate we'll end on 52 points, but that does depend whether we go on the beach early or not.
We've already got 10 wins under our belt,so it's not unreasonable to predict 4/5 wins from the final 12 games, and we'll likely draw a couple as well.

50 points is a total be celebrated. I don't think WBA ever reached that total. Most seasons 50 points is tenth.

Last 6 performance, who knew Palace were on such a bad run.

Re: How many points will we get to?
That's poor from Palace, and theyve a few difficult games in the run in, but I think with the players they have, allied to Roy's experience will see em keep out of trouble.
Re: How many points will we get to?
I think Sheff Utd have been found out and will fall away as the season goes on.

Re: How many points will we get to?
50 is the target really now. Our average points so far says carried forward 49.6, so round up for over the 0.5 and there you have it. Nothing in our remaining fixture suggests that average will drop too much if at all, and it may even increase slightly.
Interestingly how are Wolves still 7th with form like that? Maybe it says more about other teams than them. When we finished 7th it was down to Everton and Leicester being pretty bad in the run-in, maybe that is the explanation for Wolves.

Re: How many points will we get to?
Palace, like us, seem to be capable of going on little winning runs so I don't think they'll be in danger.ElectroClaret wrote: ↑Mon Feb 17, 2020 11:29 amThat's poor from Palace, and theyve a few difficult games in the run in, but I think with the players they have, allied to Roy's experience will see em keep out of trouble.
I think Brighton are the ones to watch. A manager with no top flight experience makes them difficult to predict.

Re: How many points will we get to?
I think you're right but ......Palace have a run of four "6 pointers" upcoming which will do a lot to decide their season. That's poor from Palace, and theyve a few difficult games in the run in, but I think with the players they have, allied to Roy's experience will see em keep out of trouble
Palace v Newcastle next weekend
Brighton H A v Palace week after
Palace v Watford 7th March
Bournemouth v Palace 14th March
They'll be looking to to get maybe 6/7 points from those to just about get them to safety - could be a bad body-blow if they lose their grudge "derby" with BHA though.

Re: How many points will we get to?
I think the real test for Sheff Utd will come next season, when momentum will have halted, teams figured a way of countering their swashbuckling style, and the quality of their squad is exposed. Let’s see if the likeable Chris Wilder can adapt and survive.
Re: How many points will we get to?
Really don't get Palace. They always look like a really useful outfit when they come to the Turf. They have so many exciting attacking players but can't score goals?

Re: How many points will we get to?
I think the people saying Brighton are wish-listing a bit. I must admit to being the same with West Ham but at least their stats back me up. Brighton will be playing us next season.
