Chelsea vs Man U
As Man U are only a point clear, and we want to finish above them - Chelsea win?

Re: Chelsea vs Man U
Once again proves VAR is a farce, didn't even need a replay, saw it first time, definite 100% red that should have been for Maguire.

I thought if the ref has seen the incident, which all are now seen due to VAR, then no retrospective punishment can be given?Tricky Trevor wrote: ↑Mon Feb 17, 2020 8:26 pmNo yellow, he can expect a call from the FA tomorrow.

Re: Chelsea vs Man U
I’m not sure whether that would count but the match report is from the match ref and as he didn’t give a yellow it should be reviewable.claretburns wrote: ↑Mon Feb 17, 2020 8:30 pmI thought if the ref has seen the incident, which all are now seen due to VAR, then no retrospective punishment can be given?

Re: Chelsea vs Man U
Bugger! I had a bet on Jorginho to score the first goal on the basis that Willian (or A N Other) would "win a penalty". On this occasion Willian got his timing all wrong.

Think he'll be getting a call tomorrow.
They just showed Son's kick on Rudiger, that he got sent off for. Pretty much identical.

Re: Chelsea vs Man U
Another Varce.... Push into Williams gets Zouma gosl ruled out. Then TV shows Chelsea player pushed by Fred, into Williams!
That plus Maguire assault earlier....is anyone actually doing VAR?

Re: Chelsea vs Man U
I really enjoyed watching our game on Saturday, full on football , no rolling around on the long grass, this game is rubbish compared to that, and the bloke who should have been sent off has just scored

Some battle for 4th,as it stands just 3 points splitting 4th to 7th,and Wolves and Everton can't be totally discounted either if they can put a run together.

I know football is serious about head injuries now.
If you go down holding your head when it’s not been touched you should face retrospective action. Too many clubs using it to waste time.

What an absolute shambles VAR is, on pitch referees are bad but the clowns inside a room are even worse

That’s because it’s the clowns who are usually on the pitch are the ones giving them.Giftonsnoidea wrote: ↑Mon Feb 17, 2020 10:10 pmWhat an absolute shambles VAR is, on pitch referees are bad but the clowns inside a room are even worse
If they are going to run with it they need competent people who actually understand football controlling VAR.
Re: Chelsea vs Man U
I thought the game passed him by for the most part. OK at dead ball situations but no way 50 million worth of talent.

Re: Chelsea vs Man U
Absolutely. Thirty years ago the laws of the game were changed to make that goal a legal goal, which it has been ever since. Now VAR is doing sterling work in disallowing goals which were legal last year, in stopping outburts of joy int he crowd because you know you can't celebrate a goal just yet, and inn generally p***ing the crowd off to the extent that some might decide it's not worth it any more. Well done VAR.
Seriously, what is the plus side of changing the law so that "level" means onside in the Championship but "level" is abolished in the Premier League? What is the point of having two different rules? I can see the point of looking at the two pushes in quick succession in the penalty area and deciding that Fred's push is not a big enough push to count but Azpilicueta's is a big enough push; I think the decision is stupid, but at least they were looking at something the ref hasn't seen. But why the different offside laws for different divisions?

Re: Chelsea vs Man U
Simple answer to getting rid of VAR. All fans stand up and turn their backs on the game until it restarts. The PL would surely get the message. Then maybe we can cheer when a goal goes in?
The old game relied on one man making a decision on the field of play. Now we have one man making a decision miles away. What's the point when current decisions are often worse than before?
GET SHUT OF VAR and do it before next season.

Re: Chelsea vs Man U
Nothing wrong with VAR. Its the idiots who make the decisions who are causing the problems. In tonight’s game Maguire clearly kicked the Chelsea player. VAR showed this perfectly yet the VAR official made the wrong call. Maguire of course went on to score when he should have been taking an early bath. First Chelsea disallowed goal was an equally wrong call. The offside call was correct. On NBCSN after the game they showed the Son sending off for an identical offense with the same referee. When you see the two side by side they truly are identical but with different outcomes and that is the problem with VAR
