Trippier v Aurier
Trippier v Aurier
Watching Aurier in action for Spurs, I don't understand why he was retained and Trippier transferred. Ordinary player.

Re: Trippier v Aurier
He is worse than ordinary, Ian, he is poor by PL standards. Trippier is a much better rb.

Couldn't agree more.
He must have showed something once upon a time, but I'm buggered if I know what.
Not fit to lace Tripps boots.

I think Aurier is much stronger physically and possibly quicker that Tripps but Tripps is the better footballer Imo.

Re: Trippier v Aurier
I'll be if Aurier's still at Spurs next season,he's a liability and Jose will surely overhaul the whole defence.
Re: Trippier v Aurier
Only positive thing I can say about Aurier is that he is better than Mendy for City.
Tripps a better player than both and City and Spurs both let him go....albeit City did it a fair time before we made him into a great player !
England have 4 excellent right backs but a bit thin on left backs where Charlie Taylor should be getting a look in to rival Chilwell who has just had a dodgy couple of months at Leicester.

Re: Trippier v Aurier
It's a shame Tripps seems to be happy at Atlético Madrid, because if he wasn't, I'm sure that Sean could persuade him to come back to Burnley.
He's on record as saying he'd love to play for Dyche again but unless he runs down his contract at Atlético, it won't happen because the transfer fee would be beyond us. Mind you, he's only on a three year deal, so it's possible I suppose.
He's Atlético's first English player for 95 years, so I guess they liked him.

Even if the transfer fee wasn't beyond us his wages definetely would be.Gordaleman wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2020 10:10 pmIt's a shame Tripps seems to be happy at Atlético Madrid, because if he wasn't, I'm sure that Sean could persuade him to come back to Burnley.

Re: Trippier v Aurier
That depends how much he wants to play for Sean again. Not ALL footballers are mercenaries. Look how long Gerrard stayed at Liverpool, when he could have earned mega bucks elsewhere.

Re: Trippier v Aurier
I thought we were gonna take a vote, pointless isn't it Aurier looks uncomfortable even going walkabouts.

Re: Trippier v Aurier
If he said he’d like to play for SD again, that suggests he didn’t specify the club.

Very true, but I don't think Sean is going anywhere in a hurry.Darnhill Claret wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2020 2:22 pmIf he said he’d like to play for SD again, that suggests he didn’t specify the club.
Re: Trippier v Aurier
According to Liverpool Fans Atletico are the Spanish Burnley. No surprise that Tripps fits in well.

Re: Trippier v Aurier
Hardly. Trippier himself said he would like to play for Dyche; and I left his second answer open.
