Boris Watch

Post by Cryssys » Thu Feb 20, 2020 10:45 am

Since taking office Boris has become increasingly shy and reclusive. He rarely emerges from his lair and seems quite happy to let those around him do all the work. Sightings are uncommon and, like his behaviour, are unpredictable. When he is seen he frequently appears confused and ill at ease. He is easily spooked, remains very wary of the general public and is prone to go to ground at the first sign of trouble.

During the recent bad weather, he quickly disappeared and hasn’t been seen since. Despite extensive efforts to locate him it seems his current whereabouts are unknown. His basic behaviour however is consistent. He remains as disorganised and untrustworthy as ever he is not averse to lying and has a tendency to try and make himself look bigger than he is by waving his arms about and making a lot of noise.

Despite the above he has been busy in recent weeks he has:

• Constructively dismissed Sajid Javid his chancellor
• Lied about who paid for his £15K holiday in the WI’s
• Banned fellow MP’s from appearing on Radio 4’s Today and ITV’s Good Morning Britain
• Refuses be interviewed himself
• Appointed a cabinet dominated by the Oxbridge elite and with a strong southern bias
• Nationalised Northern Rail
• Suggested building a bridge from Scotland to Ireland
• Refused to condemn the racist/sexist comments made by newly appointed adviser
• Abandoned his new found friends in the North and refused to visit flood affected areas
• Failed to release the report on Russian interference in UK elections

It will be interesting to see how he progresses in the coming months. I will try to provide updates but I need your help please. If you have any photos or funny stories regarding Boris, or if you know where he can be found, then please share them to help us improve our understanding of this rare and elusive creature.

just like with Trump in the USA, whatever Boris does won't matter. Nothing will happen. Nothing ever happens.

It's probably not his fault. His boss, that proper ugly Cummings fella (and boy does he look like he stinks), will be giving him his orders and, in the lowly position of PM, Boris Johnson can only do as the adviser tells him.

On the evening news last night they showed a clip of Boris trying to mop a floor in one of the flood stricken areas.

No wonder that he is now restricting his public appearances and only using the Number 10 designated photographer.

He would have mopped up more water standing on his head.

I have tried, unfortunately due Tory cuts I can't get an appointment for at least 4 weeks. I was also told that this is an increasingly common complaint and one which the underfunded NHS cannot cope with.

Your man Boris is a plank and every passing day goes to prove it. Nothing I said about him in the OP is untrue. Instead of trying to insult me why not try addressing the issues raised.

Analysing the actions of Prime Ministers, leading politicians and despots only leads to mental stress and breakdown bud. I am a life long socialist (a bit like yourself it would appear) but to be honest I have seen nothing much in Boris that I haven't seen in many another PM. He can only be judged on his actions and results. He does seem a bit 'off the wall', I'll grant you that, but if half of what her has promised comes about (which I doubt) then all won't be so bad I suppose. It could be worse, he could be like Thatcher.

I wonder why Boris is so popular then Cryssys?

After 3 years of the Labour party nearly bringing the country to it's knees, preventing any progress on anything. Just so it could bad mouth the tories.

I for one, is glad to have a leader who wants to get things done.

That's not the point though is it? What concerns me and should concern you is what our recently elected PM is doing, or not doing.

Based on his performance to date I see no cause for optimism.

Problem is if he goes to an area that is flooded the media make the story about him, it also diverts resources such as police away from looking after evacuated areas etc. The rain we have had is the worst since records began so those who think that if Corbyn was in power nobody would flood are just using peoples genuine misery for political point scoring.

Best description I’ve read of Cummings is ‘he looks like a student in freshers week trying too hard to look cool’. That or the worlds oldest backpacker.

Anyone who has anyone ever had a politician visit knows it is the last thing you need. People make a big deal about not visiting disasters... why? They are only ever for the presses benefit, much more sensible he stops away for me.

As for Nationalising Northern Rail... about bloody time.

I think what Rowls was getting at is the similarity between the current OP and Turtle. Contraversial OP. Argumentative in the extreme. Fishing. Tendency to highlight every sentence of a post with the, often failed, attempt to appear 'logical'.

Oh, hang on, that be almost anyone on here.

On the thread itself, even though I'm a socialist and pretty much hate the Tories with a passion, I do have time for Boris. He may 'have me fooled' for the moment but at least he is making all the right noises. Who knows. But what we do know for pretty certain is that we've got him for the next 5 years or so, so we might as well see what happens, you never know, he may even suprise me.

The Russian bot posing as Cryssys seems to be obsessed with the PM’s activities.

I would suggest looking at his list of meetings (soon to be updated with Q4 2019). I’m sure there are all kinds of graphs that can be made showing how the lesser spotted Boris is hiding from predators.

I don't think that's what a bot is or how it works (I know you're only joking).

Anyhow, as mentioned above this is a thread about Boris Johnson, not any poster on here. If you cede your vigilance towards an authority - especially if you've internalised that this needs to be done in exchange for them 'delivering' - you're essentially asking to be bent over and shafted without lube. Repeatedly, and often. It's democratically irresponsible. Be weary of this fact. Defend your views, argue your politics, by all means, but have a bit of self respect and resist the urge to fight a partisan battle on behalf of an authority, especially in such a petty manner as shown in post #2. The PM, whoever that is, should be capable of standing up for him/herself.

The bridge farce is my favourite farce since the election because it's quite an off-brand farce in how unharmful the farce is; there's very little human cost to that farce.

"Lets build a bridge from Scotland to Ireland, let's get in DONE!"
"We can't"
"Why?"
"Deep sea munitions dump"
"Oh..."

The current government was elected on a manifesto to begin to restore Public Services back to where they were prior to the credit crunch and also to "Get Brexit Done".

In four or five years time I will be expecting a number of things that improve peoples lives. Some of them are:
  • Being able to get a doctors appointment within two or three days - not two or three weeks
  • Being able to have an elderly relative seen by a Doctor in A&E without a twelve hour plus wait
  • A significant improvement in road surfaces - there are currently roads in this country that are probably third world standard
  • Better Funding for Elderly care
  • More police being visible on the streets - not just in camera vans

You will be massively disappointed. Boris only cares about his rich friends who will make a fortune from a 'No deal' Brexit.

Most of his cabinet are life-long Thatcherites and the main problem with Boris, judging him by his time at City Hall, is that he likes the power, but can't be arsed with much else. Take a look at Cummings and that bellend he appointed - any other PM wouldn't have had Sabisky anywhere near govt, never mind the inner sanctums of Downing Street.

Genuinely don't understand the relevance of that post. We haven't had Labour running the country for over a decade now. It's been either a Tory Govt or a Tory led coalition since Cameron became MP.
How can the Labour Party "bring the country to it's knees" or "prevent progress" when it doesn't have the power to do so?
If you're referring to the past 3 years, then it was Conservative MPs themselves voting against an inept badly led Conservative Govt who were responsible for any inertia. What could the Parliamentary Labour Party do to prevent Tory legislation? They didn't have anywhere near the numbers.

I'm not a fan bud, I just think that he at least pays lip service to decent stuff. Whether he delivers (or if he can afford to) is another matter. There can't be too many Thatcherites in his cabinet surely, won't most of them be retired or dead now? Or do you mean younger Thatcherite sympathisers? To be honest I haven't enough interest in the Tories (or indeed politics in general these days) to know who is in the cabinet, I used to be an awful political animal years ago (to the point where I studied it at college) but age has taught me that people enter politics as idealists but turn into self-interested power seeking monsters. There are very few politicans these days who I have any respect for, for differing reasons.

Normally I would not support a Tory PM but I wait with patience to see what he delivers. If he fails I won't be disappointed because he is a Tory, but if he succeeds then that can only be good for us I think.

I thought the same thing when I read that post. The only thing I can think he meant was Labour (albeit supported by rebel Tories) blocking the forward movement on the Brexit front. I can think of no other relevance. Not sure where he gets 'bringing the country to it's knees' from though. The Brexit fiasco in parliament was an irritation and made us a bit of a laughing-stock abroad but I don't recall being brought to my knees by it. :D

The Tories were in government and had a majority. The fact that they couldn't get Brexit through was nobodies fault but their own.

It's not just about getting things done, it's about doing the right things the right way.

Sure are. I'm finding it hard to argue on here now. I do get mildly dragged in occasionally but it's a football forum visited by people who probably have too much time on their hands (guilty). It's all good fun but some get a bit too carried away and when they start demanding 'proofs' and asking where the 'information' comes from I find that the time to back off because it's not that important to me that I spend time trawling Google to back up my arguments.

Yes, I mean some of the younger ideologues who have suddenly become one-nation Tories. I just don't buy it. By the way, I share your cynicism with regards to the rest of your post.

Rowls old boy, how nice to hear from you again.

Still getting things hopelessly wrong I see. It was only a few days ago that you told us that the NOTW had been found not guilty of hacking Millie Dowlers phone (it had been found guilty), then you went off on one about farmers in Chad being subject to high EU tariffs (they're not, they're tariff free) and now you think I'm IT reinvented!

Stike three! You're out dude.

A Russian bot is far more likely to be posting positive things about Johnson, following all the Russian money that has poured into the Tory Party - perhaps as a thank you for the government suppressing that report. No smoke without fire.

If there are Russian bots on here they will be supporting the Tories.

Funny how the biggest donors to the Tories prior to the election were Russian oligarchs and that Boris still hasn't published the report into Russian interference in UK politics. Don't you ever wonder why?

Take a look in the mirror Crosspools.

How did you reach the conclusion that the opposition brought the country to its knees, when as other people have pointed out, it was the Tory government that was unable to reach a consensus within itself over how to proceed with Brexit, wasted years on it, and then lost its majority through a purge? This shouldn't be new information to you - the facts have been in open view the whole time - yet you've somehow decided it's the fault of a party that hasn't been in power for over nine years? As for "bad mouthing the tories", surely you're not oblivious to the non-stop attacks on the Labour leader from the moment he was elected, and not just by the Tory Party, but by their press backers? I can only surmise that Corbyn was attacked so often that it just became part of normal everyday life - just like normal everyday life is like in a dictatorship where the loyal press vilifies the opposition.

He may be with you but it's worth remembering that only four out of ten people in the UK voted for him.

I've just sent a copy of this thread to Conservative Party HQ as a warning to Boris' future behaviour. They replied that I should remind you all that he has an 80 seat majority and all being well will be PM for the next 5 years, possibly the next ten.

This was my favourite in there:

02/09/2019 Rupert Murdoch Social meeting

Admittedly quite a few of that ilk:
17/09/2019 Tony Gallagher, The Sun General Discussion
18/09/2019 Robert Thomson, News Corporation General Discussion
19/09/2019 Chris Evans, Daily Telegraph General discussion
