Wood Poleaxed

Not sure how that wasn't a penalty. It looked clear as day to me and if that happens outside the area it's a free kick.

Ref bottled it,same thing happened outside the box a minute later, and he awarded a free kick and yellow carded Sanchez.

If only the PL had some form of review system in place, that would solve all these problems wouldn't it. ;)

Is anyone really surprised when you have a ref like that. Absolutely appalling display.

One of the worst I've ever seen.

To brandish nine yellows? There was two at most, unbelievable.

Sean also said on Sky that Moss changed the way he refereed the game after Spurs backroom staff had a go at him at half time - that is a big thing to say to the media

If moss did give a penalty VAR would have reversed the decision. The referee whoever it was on VAR clearly didn’t think it was a penalty as VAR didn’t even look at it.

I don't think VAR gave it because by the time they received a text message to come off the Xbox and watch the foul, the full time whistle had blown.

I think yet again VAR has proved it solves nothing. It is administered for media benefit, and therefore for media friendly clubs benefit by having another layer of protection from defeat. Funny how all the dodgy decisions still usually benefit the bigger club.

I’m not sure but if it was being reviewed, shouldn't the screen have shown as much, and there should then have been an announcement of no penalty.

Delia was bending Moss's ear all game then gave hin a gentle reminder about the way it should be reffed
Delia even patted Moss at the final whistle
Obviously congratulating for a job well done
This was the mosr appalling example of bias I have seen in a long while

Because VAR were already in Jose’s bad books after the Norwich game. Could upset the twohat twice in a week.

I said exactly the same thing. There was such a marked difference between Moss in the first half and second half something must have happened to cause it.

There's no doubt that Moss changed his refereeing style. In the first half he did very well at letting things go and not blowing for everything. In the second half it was a free kick for everything (except pushing by Tottenham) and a booking in cases where it was an actual foul.

It wasn’t outside the box and whether Moss thought it was or it wasn’t it should have been checked.

No idea why it wasn't given by VAR.

It's a clear and obvious foul, in the box. Moss didn't think so, so it's a clear and obvious error.

I'd go as far as to say it was a more obvious error than the penalty VAR did award us against Bournemouth. Its exactly the sort of incident VAR was brought in to deal with.

Good it's about time this bias got called out, that said many neutrals will argue that our goal should have been chalked off for handball, even though by the letter of the law is wasn't as the goal occurred during the next phase of play.

What's more concerning is the amazing transformation in the referee's performance after HT.

Spurs player clearly plays the man and is nowhere near the ball so it’s a foul plain and simple.

The given penalty was one of those myst make sure I touch your foor and fall over' cheating exercises.

The smashing into Wood was the clearest of real penalties.

Unfortunately, Premier League rules apply. Controlling clubs get advantage, for the good of the league.

No doubt the ref was reminded of this at H/T and fulfilled his duty.

The scouse spitter commentating on the game said when asked about the Ben Mee foul "was the foul inside the box" after they rerun it several times he said when contact was made it was on the line so its in the box making it a penalty.

When a ball hits the crossbar comes down on the line it's not a goal. When the ball runs along the touchline it's not a throw in.

So how is it counted "in the box" and a penalty when it's on the line.

"On the line" is inside. When the ball is over the goalline, it is on the field of play. When the ball (or foul, or alleged foul) is on the penalty area line, it is in the penalty area.

Why do they have to mess with the laws of the game every year.

For over a century, a player taking a throw in had to have both feet BEHIND the line. Now, as long as some part of their feet is touching the line, it doesn't matter how far into the field of play they are.

Corner kicks used to be taken from within the corner quadrant, now it can be outside so long as it overhangs the quadrant.

Offside used to be a ref or linesman's decision. Now it takes five minutes on VAR.

Goalkicks used to have to leave the penalty box, now they don't.

Why can't they stop messing with the game we used to love?
