Paying back Sky
It has been mooted as a possibility that clubs will maybe have to refund Sky
This is to be based on apoearances on Sky
This is bad news for the media darling teams including Dirty Leeds but good news for us who are hardly on

Re: Paying back Sky
IF this is the case perhaps an amazon or Facebook will come in and offset that and take over the rights...Woodleyclaret wrote: ↑Sun Mar 15, 2020 7:44 amIt has been mooted as a possibility that clubs will maybe have to refund Sky

Re: Paying back Sky
Think this could be a real shake up for Sky and the PL. When you don’t have something you get used to not having it. People will realise there are other things today than subscribe to watch every football match.

They pay in instalments don't they?
Nobody will of been paid for the matches that haven't taken place yet.

Re: Paying back Sky
Excellent point that's why Sky should tread carefully, and not take their subscribers for granted, they wouldn't be the 1st business to think they're to big to fail.this should serve as a wake-up call.
Competition from the likes of Amazon and other streaming services might well not be a bad thing in the longer term.Sky have had a monopoly on football for far too long, and it's made them complacent.
Whether such activities would be helpful for BFC is another altogether, there is the risk that the top 6 out muscle the smaller clubs, and demand a larger slice of the cake,or even their own pay-tv deals, but that's probably going to happen sooner or later anyway.
Re: Paying back Sky
Oh good. I look forward to my refund on my sky sports subscription.
Re: Paying back Sky
How has Sky had a monopoly on football? For a start regulation means they can’t buy all the games, the 3pm blackout curtails the volume of PL games and they haven’t had the Champions League for quite a while.
Sky do sports coverage very well, they are world leaders. Not sure they need to be hit over the head over a virus no one controls.

Re: Paying back Sky
Day 3 without sports.
Found a lady sitting on the sofa.
Apparently she's my wife.
She seems nice!

Re: Paying back Sky
I think they would stay in the Championship if they were getting £150/£180m per season.

Re: Paying back Sky
The Biggest, Dirtiest club in the world doesn't really need much in the way of TV money. Just plenty of exposure to satisfy their billion-odd fan base.Woodleyclaret wrote: ↑Sun Mar 15, 2020 4:41 pmFao Claret Tony this may be so but

Re: Paying back Sky
Not sure about the question. I would have thought though that Premiership clubs would get paid a lot more money from Sky than Championship clubs.
