Ticket Office, Clarets Stores etc., all closing...

Post by randomclaret2 » Fri Mar 20, 2020 10:12 am

Due to the ongoing Coronavirus COVID-19 threat Burnley Football Club has made the decision to close all supporter facing departments including the ticket office, Clarets Stores at Turf Moor and Charter Walk, reception, catering rooms, and administration offices from Friday 20th March 5pm today (Friday 20th March) until further notice. This is in line with guidance and advice from both the Government and the football authorities.

With the ticket office closing surely new season ticket sales will be put on hold and the early bird period extended until they reopen

I would assume you would still be able to purchase your season ticket online and if you are on the direct debit it is auto renewal.

Can't get the children's free season tickets online.

Season tickets are still available as follows:

Online
Phone (Ticketzone)
Post (enclose a cheque)

Children's free season tickets - email the ticket office at - ticketoffice@burnleyfc.com with your details

They are open until 5 today after which there will be no interaction with the public although they will still be picking up post/emails etc.

Today is the final day to cancel an existing direct debit and any new direct debit applications must be submitted by 31st March.

Hope that all helps.

Families need money and support in these uncertain times and yet the Club maintain early bird and DD cut off date over 4 months until new season of what is now a very dubious start date. Both of which could be changed. The early bird was brought in for a reason some years ago. Not sure these reasons still exist?
It’s a simple solution make the early bird price the standard price this year with seats reserved until the end of June. We may have more idea on the effects this has had on families. The ticket money between now and end of June could be more important to families than the millionaires it’s supporting?
I think it unacceptable that when the proverbial hits the fan for a lot of lifelong supporters the club offer nothing to help them assess next few months. I was told earlier in the week that there would be no extension and cancelled the auto renew. Thinking they would re consider early bird date. Seems not. Don’t forget though one town, one turf, one family?

Assume the online shop still open, too?

Club still refusing this morning to issue refunds for the City game. Don’t understand this.
I get holding off any decision on season tickets - I think most clubs have not made any decisions yet as there is so much uncertainty but for many events that have been cancelled as the City game was then refunds are available.
It is irrelevant whether the game will be rescheduled as anybody who bought a ticket did so for the day it was cancelled. You can choose to wait for a rescheduled date if you wish but if you want a refund this should be available.

It would be nice for the players to make a contribution of financial support. This would help the low paid zero hours members of staff, in their time of financial hardship

The players have made a financial contribution to the Community Department Food Bank scheme

On BBC it is now saying restrictions might be in place for a year which means next season might not start in August.

Surely the club should move to a 9 month Direct Debit from July

The club really should make an announcement about extending the renewal date.

Guess they will still be contactable via email

Anyone know email address for ticket office

I've said this a few times myself, if we are all in it together, the better off need to be just as involved.

The players have made contributions and at many clubs. Players get paid a fortune, but they have lifestyles and bills based on that income. They also face an uncertain future. There's no violin out for them, but it's wrong to think that they are the solution to problems like this.

I agree. The club should not be taking money for a season that they will not be able to deliver.

I think that it is very unlikely that the season will start in August. The 2019-20 season needs to be concluded first and the Premier league are committed to do this. If the government finally get the people to self-isolate, it would be a long drawn out process into next year. A successful vaccine late this year/early next might result in things 'getting back to normal' next spring. If that was the case the 2019-21 season could recommence and finish in May 21. The early bird deadline for the 21-22 season should then be March next year.

If the virus takes off and peaks in June, it will likely be devastating to the country and there could even be a second wave of infections during the winter. The Premier league is therefore not going to re-commence in the summer and the 20-21 season is not likely to start in August.

I will not be renewing my season ticket until things become clearer.

Don't know if this has been posted previously but it may answer a few questions fans are asking. It's on the BFC Webpage.

Tickets & Hospitality FAQ's
We understand that due to these unprecedented events that there may be some confusion around the 2019/2020 Premier League fixtures and how this relates to match tickets and season tickets.

Burnley FC and the Premier League are aiming to ultimately ensure that supporters receive a conclusion to the 2019/2020 season and as such all Premier League fixtures are simply 'postponed' until such time as the season can be completed in full. Any match or hospitality tickets purchased for these postponed games will still be valid if the fixture is rearranged, and a new date is confirmed. 2019/2020 season tickets will still be valid for the rearranged matches at Turf Moor. Please note that as the 2019/2020 season is set to be completed as matches are 'postponed', the final direct debit payment in March will still be taken as scheduled.

Supporters who have purchased or autorenewed for a 2020/2021 earlybird season ticket will be unaffected by the issues caused by the Coronavirus disruption and will eligible to attend 2020/2021 Premier League matches at Turf Moor when the season starts. The earlybird deadline ends on 31st March and season tickets are still on sale click here for more.

Once rearranged fixture dates for postponed matches (both home & away) have been officially confirmed any supporters who cannot attend at that time will be eligible for a refund - this is applicable for match tickets only and not for season ticket holders. Details to be made available in due course once rearranged fixture dates are released.

At this stage the England U21 v Turkey U21 International fixture, set for Monday 30th March, is postponed with a potential rearranged fixture date to be confirmed in due course.
