Message whilst holding stating that you will be able to pause your subscription online from Friday.
Will hang on and do that personally.

Re: Anyone cancelled their Sky Sports Subscription ?
I did it last night, i wasn't going to bother if you had to ring up but fair play to them they made it available on line.
it still looks like im getting charged for it though on my March - April bill. the sports charge goes on my April - May bill.
as of last night the sports channels still worked so maybe they are still letting you watch them, but for free.
Re: Anyone cancelled their Sky Sports Subscription ?
Cheers. I keep getting put in a queue and then told there are technical problems and to try again later.Granny WeatherWax wrote: ↑Fri Mar 20, 2020 12:52 pmI did it last night, i wasn't going to bother if you had to ring up but fair play to them they made it available on line.

Re: Anyone cancelled their Sky Sports Subscription ?
Leisure. I got the technical problem reply most parts of the day but found around 10.00 p.m. it was much better so paused my sports package last night.

Not allowing me to pause anyway. It took an hour and a half to tell me I can't pause due to technical difficulties.

FactualFrank. As I mentioned earlier it's best to try around 10.00 / 10.30 tonight. I got straight through at that time last night.

We cancelled last night. The sports channels are free until live sport resumes.Granny WeatherWax wrote: ↑Fri Mar 20, 2020 12:52 pmI did it last night, i wasn't going to bother if you had to ring up but fair play to them they made it available on line.

Our April bill is still showing the charge for Sky Sports. They will most likely take April's money off the next bill.

Re: Anyone cancelled their Sky Sports Subscription ?
Managed to Pause mine on Thursday night, next sky sports payment middle of June.
Re: Anyone cancelled their Sky Sports Subscription ?
Dave, you might as well pause it, you’ll still get all the channels and not be paying out for them.DAVETHEVICAR wrote: ↑Fri Mar 20, 2020 2:14 pmKeeping mine £37 a month allSky Sports plus entertainment

It’s a good move by SKY although the most customer centric way would have been to automatically pause all SKY Sport subscriptions.

The Mrs phoned. She got to the message saying the lines were extremely busy, so she put it on speakerphone ready to do other bits in the house and much to her surprise, an operator answered straight away...

Re: Anyone cancelled their Sky Sports Subscription ?
Pausing is the best option, if you cancel and then re-contract you probably won't get it at the same price. Plus any discounts that you got on SS or cinema will be null and void.

Tried to pause for the last 24 hours, all i get is a blue circle spinning. I suppose thats one way of Sky reducing the number of folk pausing subscription.

I did it on the Sky website - took all of a few seconds. Been on the My Sky App and it shows my next three bills have been reduced.
That's not cancelled - just paused it

Re: Anyone cancelled their Sky Sports Subscription ?
Did the same with me for a couple of days but must have been actioned as when I checked on what my next bill would be it had taken off the sport element (and the best bit is that I can still watch the sport channels!).Barry_Chuckle wrote: ↑Mon Mar 23, 2020 9:18 amTried to pause for the last 24 hours, all i get is a blue circle spinning. I got the blue spinning circle. I exited that window after a few minutes. I checked my bills going forward (with My Sky app) and the pause had been actioned.

Did it over the phone. Got through immediately. Done.
Re: Anyone cancelled their Sky Sports Subscription ?
I've honestly no idea. When I left last time, I got a deal where my bill is 50% for 6 years. So I don't know how it's all worked out.

OK, just looked at April's bill and it's showing £35 instead of £70, so looks like they've paused it for 1 month.

Re: Anyone cancelled their Sky Sports Subscription ?
Can't wait to be out of contract so we can finally bin Sky off. I'd probably stick with them if they didn't insist on charging for their entertainment package. It's like a service station forecourt shop refusing to sell you petrol unless you buy a gallon of oil.
We'll buy a couple of new 4K HDR receivers when they come out and I can always buy a Now TV sports pass if need be.

For anyone getting the spinner, try a different browser. Page wouldn't load on Chrome for us but was fine on Edge.

Re: Anyone cancelled their Sky Sports Subscription ?
I had Sky Q installed on the last Monday in December - not sure how but I didn't pay anything for the fitting but got the full package (except the kids channels), and that includes Netflix, for £55 although the latest increase has taken that to £58. I took a second box, which I didn't need. Had I not done so I would have saved £3 per month but would have had to pay £199 installation. Monthly cost now down to £42 with Sky Sports paused.
