Exploiting nature drives outbreakes of new diseases...
If we continue to indiscriminately exploit the natural world for our own needs (greed) then this Coronavirus nightmare will happen time and time again.

I blame the CHINESE GOVERNMENT for poor regulation/control of live wild animal markets where humans are in far too close contact with endangered species that often carry potentially dangerous viral infections.
Who do you blame?

I’ll probably weigh it all up at a later date, I’ve no doubt things will need to change as a result of this.
I have my assumptions but it’s difficult to make accusations at the minute as I tend not to believe a lot of what I read in the papers and on the news.

Intensive factory farming of animals puts us all at risk as bird & swine flu has shown. Not only as perfect places for disease to spread but diseases that will become resistant to antibiotics which we put in their feed.

Probably another 50 years until we have more clues as to blame.

I'm often appalled by mankind's disregard for balanced nature but pandemics have always occurred.
Black Death killed c 100 million people (when populations were much much smaller than now) in C14th. Coincidentally, that was thought to have originated in the vicinity of China before spreading (much more slowly than the current pandemic) to middle east, Mediterranean basin and all through Europe.

Bird and swine flu were both more of a product of small scale farming where the owners lived alongside their animals, as I remember. I agree with you about antibiotics, though. Far too many given to animals as a matter of routine.CombatClaret wrote: ↑Wed Apr 08, 2020 12:56 pmIntensive factory farming of animals puts us all at risk as bird & swine flu has shown. Deliberately created by man, accidentally released. I blame poor lab processes. I don’t think we’ll ever know though.
