Well that's another hard day at the coalface
Sat in the garden, listened to the birds, planted all my veg seeds, watched the bumble bees droning round and just relaxed with the sunshine and my fountain bubbling away.
So that's birds, bees and fountains of seed. 😉

Like a lot have already said: exercising every day, spending more time with my boy, no commute, getting diy jobs done, cycling on near empty roads, discovering more local walks, saving money.

Fortunately we've been lucky with the weather and we have a big garden, which helps my wife with our boy while I'm trying to WFH. Not sure how we'd cope if they were confined to the house.

It's hard trying to explain to a 3-year old why he can't see his grandparents and cousins and go to nursery or the places he usually goes. He's learnt that it's because of germs but beyond that how do you help a kid that page understand it?

Sat in peace and tranquility watching and listening to the birds.

Pretending I cannot hear that mangled orchestra of shite music and footballs bouncing off fences.

The live streaming of music. Currently listening to Hacienda Live, which has been good for the last 4 hours.

Local walks, I was out regularly before the lockdown but it makes me appreciate the area we live in.

Quality time with child and wife.

Community helping each other and contray to some, people have respected the 2m and been very friendly around our area.

The only thing I like about the lockdown is the fuel economy I’m getting out of my Toyota, it’s now running at 15 days to the gallon.

My cat is enjoying my being at home more.
This would be a lot worse if it was winter.
Got my 12 week letter today, so I suppose I might as well get used to it.

Watching the latest update. Pritti Patel should be seen and not heard. Much more impressed with raab, and I wouldn't have dreamt that I'd be typing that 3 weeks ago.

The Sun newspaper is experiencing a downturn in circulation.
It costs less than a cup of coffee. So, please give journalism a much needed boost every day.

I love driving to Barley , parking up and walking up Pendle. Plenty of fresh air, great views and exercise all in one.

Plus side fewer cars, very peaceful in the garden.

Down side, the number of cyclists.

There are certain people near me who aren't happy unless they are making a noise -- lawnmowers (just about tolerable) power washers, drills, music louder than it needs to be, banging (with hammers) clattering, chainsawing --the whole bloody lot! It's driving me bonkers -- especially the tosser over the fence who gets hits bloody angle grinder out and starts cutting tiles at teatime when I'm trying to relax with a drink or two. The thick sods show no consideration. It's driving me mad....

I've heard it's been quite busy on Pendle? Is it possible to stay two metres away, especially when passing people on the stone steps? Genuine question, not a dig.

Bonus for us. Our medical cards were due to expire in March, they are means tested. Due to an inheritance we wouldn’t have got new ones. The virus has meant they have sent out 12 month extensions.

There’s absolutely nothing I like about this lockdown. It’s a nightmare. I need to work to make money so that I can pay the final two years of my mortgage. I had a game plan over a five year period. I paid half the capital off over the last two years and needed to do the same over the next two years. Auction rooms and art galleries closed up indefinitely. I have a ton of work on which I can’t return to clients on account of the fact that they’re all locked down. The government help for self employed people is just so minimal. Who will compensate me? The Chinese government? I should coco!

Braggers and show offs being frustrated. Nobody seems interested in ‘stuff’ and ‘things’ anymore. Someone with nothing who is volunteering is held in far higher esteem now and real human qualities are prevailing.

I'm loving the quietness. In the outer reaches of London it's quite bizarre to be able to cross the road with barely a care in the world for looking out for passing traffic. Being able to hear the birds clearly has been marvellous, similarly walking around the neighborhood and appreciating their gardens . All the helicopter traffic into Biggin Hill has ceased, just the odd Met police helicopter now. The silence is wonderful.

If there’s one thing this lockdown has taught me; it’s that your first breakfast is the most important meal of the day.

The air is cleaner.

I live near the A1 motorway and hardly any traffic sound. Hoping it will be the same when we all drive electric cars.

People are being friendlier.

Playing Toilet roll den building with my 5 year old started off as fun. We started with an small igloo but it’s grown out of control. We’ve been lost in the Massive structure for 3 days now and can’t find our way out. Fortunately we had 11 months of food stored around the house and keep stumbling across the stuff. Happy days and definitely better than work.

It is :D

I am not one of the fortunate ones who can isolate and 'work from home'. We have transformed from a Herts CC school supplies operation into a warehouse and distribution centre for food banks and food parcels for vulnerable residents. Massive transformation, hiring in refrigerated vehicles, 2 x 40ft fridge and freezer containers for storage. Most of my team have been in all weekend and have delivered to over 1000 vulnerable households whilst most people have been enjoying the Easter sun.

What really brings it home is I have 2 drivers on call 12 hours a day to support the military in transporting 'people'. I clarified, the people they will be carrying will be in the rear of their van and zipped inside a body bag. This is the reality of what we are going through at the moment.
