Re: Burnley all time softest XI
It was at Mansfield in the cup when he pulled out of a challenge and the bloke behind me bellowed: "Get stuck in Chadwick, the worst that can happen is one of your spots bursting."

Danny Fox - Coward of a footballer, always hated the way he targeted the young weaker players and tried to snap them in two with a tackle. Would pick the players he could get away with doing it to, makes him soft to me
Admittedly most supporters like to see this, I just think it’s pointless in this day and age

I know he didn't play much but I seem to recall Mark Yates being particularly wet.

Re: Burnley all time softest XI
Wigan in 2009/10 and Michopoulos did the same against Sheffield Wednesday after conceding three. Problem was, Beresford came on, was even worse and conceded another four, but at least he stayed on his feet.Burnley1989 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 18, 2020 5:20 pmBeast faking the injury after cocking up in front if the Jimmy Mac was funny

Re: Burnley all time softest XI
My Sons played against Chadwick in a friendly match, for village team in Cambridge. It was just after he left Cambridge Utd.
Opposition boasting Chadwick had played European Football. He lasted about 10 mins. First son had deliberately swapped wings "To say Hi" After two strong tackles he left the field. To a brief round of applause and a shout of "Up the Clarets!"

Difficult decision in goal:
Peter Mellor of the chocolate wrists or Marlon Beresford (when at 'Boro, I think) who I saw deliberately duck a challenge with Duncan Ferguson and allowed Big Dunc to score. Now I know Big Dunc was a handful, but a mans got to do what a mans got to do.

Scored some cracking goals, but Junior Stanislas was infuriatingly soft.

Well I’d like to play/pick the softest team with the best chance of winning, so whilst I think of a team, I’ll put forward Alan Stevenson just ahead of Peter Mellor.

Terry Cochrane, has to be captain. After he pulled out of a tackle against Wolves, a night cup-tie with not many on, Uwe screaming at the bench get that f+cker off. I was on the Beehole and heard it.

His reaction to a slight touch in our Premier League game at Ewood for one of their goals still annoys me.Burnley1989 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 18, 2020 5:20 pmBeast faking the injury after cocking up in front if the Jimmy Mac was funny

You do realise that Benson did a 220kg deadlift and only lost 7-5 in an arm wrestle with Arnie Schwarzenegger in the 80s
If you wasn't aware of the above facts I suggest you reconsider your opinion

What about Martin Buchan for manager. Couldn’t hack it after a few games and sulked off.

Junior Stanislas. When he jumped out of the tackle V Leicester in front of the Longside he probably wished he could have gone straight off, given the reaction.

Was it Alan Moore who ducked out of a header down at Millwall in the last minute of the FA Cup game when we could have equalised? Or have I imagined it?
Re: Burnley all time softest XI
That’s right. It was Valentine’s Day. That’s why I remember. Quite a difficult situation arriving home (South London at the time) after about 9 pints.

Re: Burnley all time softest XI
Have only come up with 3 or 4 names, so I’d rather not be negative by naming them. One or two were popular players despite being a little bit timid at times. Certainly couldn’t name a full team.
