You get the picture goalkeepers are to football, what drummers are to bands, mad as hatters .

My first away game at York, Boxing day 1984. Loads of Clarets there in fancy dress ran on the pitch at half time. The police quickly followed and were grappling with yetis, gorillas and grizzly bears. It was surreal and even funnier when I think about it now.

Barracking Chico trying to sing Chico time at half time. He got totally peed off and cut short his session.

Accompanied by the shouts of SCUUUUUUD (in reference to the Gulf War and the Iraqis useless aimless bomb)
No Nay Never nicknamed Ron Futcher "scud missile"at the time, describing him as "old, slow and inaccurate". Thought the inaccurate part was a bit harsh.

Brendan O'Connell's miss at York when the dumbfounded Clarets in attendance threw pies and sausage rolls in his direction. The area was covered in pastry.

The bloke dressed as Jesus at Watford at Easter, Charlie Austin gave him a double take after completing his celebration.

A further mention to the roaster at St Andrews trying to avoid getting kicked out hurtling down the seats with the inevitable conclusion, much to the hilarity of the watching away end.

Last game of season at Emirates, Wengers last game

All the gooners were singing “there’s only one Arsene Wenger”. Burnley fans joined in and were applauded by the Arsenal fans ...
Until they added “ you two faced b*****ds, you got him the sack”

I think it was Port Vale away in that solo 1st Division season under Mullen.

One of our supporters got stuck in the turnstile, Police trying to push him out, fans trying to push him in. All the while he's yelling "built for narrow knobs" these turnstiles!

Eventually got out and had to be let in through the sliding door

Saw that... Just read this out to Mrs SA. She says it was the funniest thing she ever saw at a football match, better than being in Rocky's firing line she says!
Have to say the guy in question had the most embarrassed face I think I've ever seen at a match. Someone on here must know him surely.

Moanrihno's mumbling out the match minute numbers of where we did his team injustice.

And you did another away game after that debacle? This was the game I spent sat next to Jimmy Mac in the press box. All he did for most of the game was tut tut at how poor we were and eventually said to me: "“Do you enjoy watching this?” he asked me at one point. “I wouldn’t choose to watch this if it were free," he added.

Haha I certainly did Tony. A real baptism of fire were my early away games. Was also present at Chester for another 4 nil defeat, think it was Buchan's last game. First away victory I saw was at Nuneaton in the cup.

Away at Rochdale in a league (littlewoods) cup midweek game, there was some scuffling on the terrace to our right. The police carried a man off by his arms and legs face down and as they passed us behind the goals his genitals were on display.

Brendan O'Connell's miss at York still rates as probably the most incredible I've ever seen - not so much that he missed the target from six yards but that the ball cleared the away end and ended up in the street

The police/ladder incident - same venue but under happier circumstances

The lino outpacing Nick Pickering as he chased a ball down the touchline in front of the Longside

Stadium announcer at Northampton in the Championship season "Is Burnley closed - I've never seen so many away fans"

It was Buchan’s last game. He’d only been here for five minutes and the fans turned on him that day.

The famous Barnet away game- nightmatch in Div 4 championship season. The police officer who was Rowan Atkinsons' twin brother. He stood on the touch line facing us, all packed on that terrace, to a man, singing, Mr. Bean, Mr. Bean, Mr. Bean. It was one of those when I suppose you had to be there, but even his colleagues were pi**ing themselves.
That was my funniest memory too.
When he saw us all pointing towards him, he looked either side, to see if it was meant for someone else. In doing it, his mannerisms were just like Mr Bean!

The other funny thing about the attendance quoted by Stan Flashman, Chairman of Barnet. I think we had more stuffed into our wee section! The funny but not so funny bit afterwards was trying to turn into the alley and ending up in a pile of bodies, in the greenery! A police horse, as wide as the alley, coming towards the existing Clarets! Idiot mobile wooden tops!

Several good ones mentioned already but I remember a midweek away game at the Reebok during one of our promotions under Dyche and there was a Bolton fan who’d spent the majority of the first half giving it large to the Burnley end, he was especially noticeable as the home stands were very empty. The ball went out of play and landed near him, he picked it up and tried to punt it back onto the pitch but slipped and went right over his seat ending up in the next row. He was hounded for the rest of the half and didn’t reappear after half time.

I recall going to Torquay when away fans were banned.

Living in Salisbury, no hassle getting in.
Stood and watched quietly. Burnley scored, let iut a Yelp in muted celebration and was drowned out by half the terrace being Burnley fans! All good after that.

Palace away. a few seasons ago.

Danny Fox was lying injured on the floor, match stopped, when an actual fox leaped on to the pitch and ran across the park.

Half-time a few seasons ago against Manchester City and a City fan had arranged to propose to his Claret girlfriend on the pitch.

As he dropped to one knee and popped the question, the Longside chanted "You don't what you're doing". Priceless.

The York game on Boxing Day 1984 was the first time I got thrown out of a ground. I would have ended up in one of the cells I think but they were already full!

Chester and Buchan's last game - I was in the stand and gave the players some real stick as they came off the pitch. Peter Devine didn't help by laughing as he walked off. Our coach (Nelson Gasworkers) waited outside after the game to continue the stick to players and management

Nuneaton we scored very late on to win it. Kicked off as we left the ground and as we pulled out of town our coach got a brick through the window.

Warren Aspinal reacting to "Sumo" chants by pulling his shorts up the crack of his arse.

Birmingham City fan trying to get away from the stewards down over the seats at St Andrews and tumbling down the last few.

Finding out Banksy's mum wasn't really a ginger milf at all, she dyed her hair.

The Blackpool fan getting mercilessly wound up in front of the Burnley fans whilst being interviewed to the point he completely lost it and ended up getting nicked was absolutely priceless. Hard to beat that.
The O'Connell miss at York completely rewrote the laws of physics. I don't know to this day how he managed to miss it by as much as he did. He was not just in the 6 yard box but more or less under the crossbar. He was forever remembered for it. Wasn't so funny when it happened :D
