When you and Spot are ready Ralph,i can never find the bleeding ball anyway,at least it provides a welcome distraction from all the rubbish posted on most of the other threads.

I was going to give the thread a catchy title like
"Boris, Donald, and Keir declare their unbridled love for Jeremy"
but Spot said "Don't be a prat!" He's right, as usual

As soon as possible. Will it be individual or do you fancy trying the team idea to add a little spice to it

Me and Spot are going to share share a nice Shiraz tonight (he gets the water in the bowl). We'll talk it over then. Probably better if we let the teams decide.

Re: ***SPOT THE BALL*** When do you want the new season to start?
A few options for folk to chew over with their post-dinner cuppa (All based on 32 players signing up)...
1) Two Leagues based on previous scores from this last season. (Buxton will start with a 16 point deduction for being better than everyone else)
2) Similar to above but ONE giant League (Buxton will start with a 12 point deduction because there are more teams)
3) As per 1) or 2) above but each team plays against one another until they have played all other teams in their Division. Points will be awarded as per The English (Formerly "BARCLAYS") Premier League, 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, points per image to be shown in "FOR" and "AGAINST" columns. This may add the spice that Firthy talks about.
4) Knock-out Cup following Champions League style Leagues to kick-start things off. This is similar to what we've just finished.
ALL games to be played between Monday and Saturday with, WAIT FOR IT, a "LIVE GAME" each Sunday afternoon.
So, what's your preferred option? Or, do you have another option?

Re: ***SPOT THE BALL*** When do you want the new season to start?
Well it would be rude not to have a go wouldn't it !
Regards format - I'll go with whatever...
If it's a (singles) league maybe just 3 pics per round, It will lead to more draws and a tighter more fluctuating table.
If teams - no idea? Random draw? Seeded picks? Alphabetic?
Live - harder to organise sync up - maybe evening kick off? First to answer gets advantage?
Whatever makes it good for you Ralph - but I'm sure Spot will take the lead

Re: ***SPOT THE BALL*** When do you want the new season to start?
Listen up all you pretenders. Ralph and Spot know full well that I would have won the last competition had I seen it and played in it.
Like a bunch of lunatic Leeds fans, the folk in my street have been singing 'Spot the ball champion, spot the ball champion' about me all week.
Although if we're having teams then I'm on Buxton's, because we all know he's in cahoots with Spot.

Though Firthy seems keen on the team option, I'd prefer to stay individual.

Re: ***SPOT THE BALL*** When do you want the new season to start?
OPTIONS FOR THE NEW SEASON
1) Two Leagues based on previous scores from this last season
2) Similar to above but ONE giant League
3) Each team plays against one another until they have played all other teams in their Division. Points will be awarded as per the Premier League, 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, points per image will be akin to goal difference and shown in "FOR" and "AGAINST" columns
4) Champions League style Leagues to kick-start things off followed by a Knock-Out Cup
5) Firthy's "Team" suggestion but we're not quite sure how that works, as yet
6) Straight Knock-Out Cup
Please vote for ONE option PLUS are you in favour of a "Live" match each Sunday afternoon (Time to suit)
Spot has cast his vote for Option 3, plus YES to live games

Re: ***SPOT THE BALL*** What are YOUR choices for the coming season?
one giant league sounds good. with appropriate checks done on all our financial status prior to kick off.
There should be an independent assessor who's job it is to visit each player to ensure they dont have access to the same photo's as Ralph and spot (check his kennel)
drug testing seems a step to far.

Re: ***SPOT THE BALL*** What are YOUR choices for the coming season?
Ralph, my idea for a team STB can be in any format. You just draw teams of 3 and everyone puts their entries in as usual and the 3 scores for the players in a team are added together to give a team score.
So it can be a league for so many weeks as previous, a straight knockout or a league where all the teams play each other and get points for a win or draw.
I'm happy with any format, be it team or individual.
