Don't think anyone really defended China.

It's just that one poster said we don't have all the facts so we can't criticise our UK government. Then criticised China without knowing all the facts. It was just a matter of pointing out how hypocritical that behaviour was.

Can the boards right wing not put up anybody with an IQ above single figures to argue Trump's corner ?

Even a Rowls type would be a massive upgrade on the grunting illiteracy of the intellectual no-marks fighting out of the blue corner on this thread.

Simple :?: for all the Trump supporters,if he's been such a great President,name 3 policies he's enacted,that have improved America,just 3 will do,after all he's been in office more than 3 years,so that's only 1 policy a year you need,it can't be that hard can it?

That’s the one defence left isn’t it. I’ve noticed that any critique of any of the government on social media at all, even if it is attempting to praise them (furlough scheme) is met with “but what would commie Corbyn have done?”

It’s going to be the go to yardstick for governments of the future isn’t it... for governments of any type - yes, we seriously screwed up, but just think how bad it would have been if Corbyn was in charge...

He might yet be re-elected,but he'll have to turn the polls round,he achieved that in 2016,however he's now the incumbent,so it'll much harder for Trump to play the anti-establishment figure.

A new poll is out from Redfield and Whilton strategies testing differing levels of support in an ordinary election versus an exclusively vote-by-mail election (VBM isn't available in most states as of yet).

Ordinary VI:
Biden 47%
Trump 40%
Third party/write-in 4%
Undecided 9%

VBM VI:
Biden 48%
Trump 39%
Third party/write-in 4%
Undecided 9%

Congressional Democrats probably began their push for inclusion of nationwide VBM in coronavirus relief packages too late to be successful in this endeavour.
Never heard of them. I am happy, at least on this occasion, to quote from "Fake News Central (aka CNN) from a poll taken 5th May. I know you'll be delighted to hear that Donald Trump (or John  Trump as some on this board prefer to call him) has matched his highest approval ratings ;)

Interesting potential result from California but there is still time for the result to be rigged by the crooked Dems. Don’t forget they are playing in the red shirts according to Fatboy

Could be a bit more tricky to say that in the states though....who would you use for "just think how bad it would be if Donald Trump was not in charge ?"
Bill Cosby ?
Micky Mouse ?
Charles Bronson ?
The Statue of Liberty ?

FC Burnley, sorry I only occasionally dip into these discussions, but did you ever explain why you used the name Hussein for Obama? There must have been a reason why you chose to do that and it might make things clearer if you could explain your thoughts that led to you doing that. I think you said you did it because 'it's his name' but there must have been something else in your mind that prompted you to write that. What was it?

FBI warns Covid-19 research groups of China hacking threat

Gordon Carrera

BBC Security correspondent

The US FBI and Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) have issued a Public Service Announcement warning groups researching Covid-19 of likely targeting and network compromise by China.

The UK and US had already issued a detailed joint warning about other countries targeting research back on 5 May.

On that occasion, they did not officially name names but sources indicated China, Russia and Iran were among those responsible.

Now, in a widely trailed move, the US has decided to single out China specifically with this new advisory.

So far they have not been joined by the UK and the new alert does not contain any new details of what has taken place.

That means this may well be interpreted as a means of both playing to a domestic audience and of raising the pressure on China as part of the growing tension between Washington and Beijing.

U.S. intelligence was investigating Flynn pre-election. That's why Obama told Trump, "don't hire him." And Trump pal Chris Christie said, "don't hire him." But Trump liked Flynn's secret Russia dealings—so he hired him. The feds continued investigating him because it's their job.

Republicans are so up their own butts on Mike Flynn that *every* critique they make of the Obama administration *starts* from an assumption no one in law enforcement shares—that there was no basis to investigate him. Of course there *was* and the feds were doing their *jobs*.

It would've been *gross dereliction of duty* if the FBI and CIA hadn't tracked Mike Flynn pre- and post-election—*not* because he was a Trump adviser, but because *he was working to sell U.S. foreign policy to hostile foreign powers.* - Obama *tried* to save Trump and failed.

Consider: if Obama and Biden were secretly trying to ensnare Trump, why the *hell* did Obama directly tell Trump not to hire Flynn? It's one of the chief questions no Trumpist conspiracy theorist can explain: why did Obama try to *warn* Trump, if he was trying to *hurt* him?

Stop bloviating, this is huge, Biden is finished. You can't unmask an American citizen it's illegal. We have only just learnt that there was no legal basis for Flynn to be even questioned by the FBI. So what the hell were they doing listening into the conversations of a political opponent who was about to come into office as National Security Advisor? The question now is how much was Obama implicated.

We shall see but I've read plenty of good serious investigate journalism on this over the last few years whilst you just get excited whenever the Trump propaganda machine whips up a frenzy.

Flynn was a wrong'un and so was being monitored by the FBI and Feds
Trump was warned he was a wrong'un
Trump ignored the warning and hired him (prob cos he was a wrong'un with links to Russia)
Flynn continued to be monitored because he was a wrong'un and not because he worked for Trump

Just been announced that Republican Mike Garcia has won Katie Hills old seat in California. Final results not in but would appear to be a significant victory. A major win for Donald Trump in the predominantly blue state. The GOP also won in Wisconsin. Been a bad day for the left

I see the Don has been infecting Twitter again.

Trump: '100 Trade Deals' can't outweigh Covid-19
In January, Donald Trump and Chinese Vice Premier Liu He signed a "Phase One" trade deal. As part of the deal, China pledged to boost US imports by $200bn above 2017 levels and strengthen intellectual property rules.

It was meant to pave the way for a more wide-ranging deal - but the chances of a resolution to the trade dispute now seem increasingly remote.

On Twitter yesterday, Donald Trump said any benefits from the trade deal with China were outweighed by what he called "the plague from China".

Mr Trump has also extended for another year an executive order banning US firms from using telecoms equipment made by companies - such as Huawei - that his administration says pose a national security risk.

Amazed he's got the time given his hectic schedule.

Just substitute the word "black" or "Muslim" for "white" in that comment and there would be uproar from the usual suspects on this board. I think this comment - "white trash" needs to be deleted now.

There you go, they just can't help themselves. You've hurt my feelings, I can't think of a response - you're an evil wacist !!

Incidentally, do you often find yourself being called a racist when you express your firmly held beliefs and opinions, and do you think it’s always because your interlocutor can’t think of a response, or do you think there could be another reason, perhaps?
