Good morning spades
Before I start on my busy 6th day of 84 of virtual solitary confinement I thought that I would check on you and your better half to make sure all was still going ok and you were still getting your short trips out in the countryside.
I take it that you made the most of the summer before lockdown surveying all that is good along the A47? It may not be there when you are next allowed out and will have been replaced by a new phenomena. A motorway. Perish the thought.
It looks as though Norwich will be in the Premier League next season as this one doesn't look like finishing, poor Leeds and Liverpool, so I can plan a journey down for a brew if everybody is halfway fit and healthy.
Must go now as schoolwork to administer shortly and already found a spelling mistake that one of his teachers made last week when marking it ha ha.
Take care.

I would like to echo these sentiments. Sending my best wishes to Lady Spades and the Yates clan.

Yes, I’d like to join you in saying good morning to one of the more courteous and measured posters on here!
Hope all is well with you and yours, Spades.

Re: Good morning spades
My goodness, what a lovely thread - and all for me!
ty, it is so good to see you posting. Are you feeling much better? I do hope so. Let me know when I can start posting insulting posts again. How come your post was coherent and grammatically correct? Did Dan write it?
Buxton, my mouth is watering. How about an early lunch?
Thank you everyone for your good wishes. I need them. Mr. spades and I have run out of conversation after two weeks of isolation. Only two and a half months to go.
Take care all of you. Keep safe. Keep well.

I'm shielding too. Just had 6 months isolation during chemo as no immunity and now another 3 months!!!!
Hope all are bearing up and keeping their minds occupied. If you find yourself staring at a screen, try and read or do a bit of flexibility/stretching.
Got 2 dogs to amuse me and a missus to drive up the wall.
Rationing the wine to keep consumption right down.
Reading good books, doing a bit of online study and keeping as active as I can within these walls.
Good luck to all. UTC

So nice to find a thread like this. So much vitriol on the board nowadays. You can’t express an opinion on anything without one of the usual suspects hurling abuse and insults at you.

Re: Good morning spades
Six weeks on spades since the start of this thread and I have still not stepped foot outside of my front or back gates and still got at least another six weeks to go. I suspect it will be more but hey ho.
How is life in deepest, darkest Norfolk? Are the birds still chirping? Nice weather is due to return on Wednesday so get the sun cream ready.
Your insults didn't arrive as you promised earlier up this thread and I check the post every day but nothing has turned up.
Well I will leave you to your knitting and wish you both a good weekend.
Take care.

If you are bored then you must be a lot better and that’s really good news.

Tried to help a lady really struggling with her shopping trolley and had my head almost bitten off for not social distancing-she was of course right but my natural instinct to help someone momentarily took over the safe distancing mantra-a polite "please don't" would have sufficed and I may be many things but I am not part of a females undercarriagedermotdermot wrote: ↑Mon Mar 30, 2020 12:09 pmSo nice to find a thread like this. Re: Good morning spades
Good evening, ty.
I'm delighted to hear you are continuing to improve. It's time you started posting and upsetting people again.
Deepest, darkest Norfolk is eerily quiet with grass growing down the middle of the A47. The birds are singing away but it's not as agreeable as the rumble of tractors holding up the traffic behind.
Today marks the end of my eighth week in lockdown. I've seen nobody other than Mr. spades in all that time. One thing has emerged - we still enjoy each other's company after all these years. Isn't that nice?
Keep growing stronger, ty.
Everyone, keep safe.

Glad to hear you're feeling better ty and at least you aren't watching Lanky get beat again, so that's a real positive to focus on.

Re: Good morning spades
My Lancs membership card is sat next to my BFC season ticket at home, neither of which are likely to see the sight of day anytime soon.
We were due to beating you Yarkies anytime soon but you have been let off the hook. Anyway we have sacked our overseas players for the season in anticipation of not playing. I'm missing the cricket more than the ever now the nice weather is with us and the football would have been over and done with.
Re: Good morning spades
We will certainly appreciate it when we can watch live sport again and the joy of turning the red rose over will be extra special.
As will celebrating a live goal for the Clarets but that may be some time off, by which time hopefully you are ready to attend ty.

Re: Good morning spades
Afternoon Spades. I’ve been working in Norwich throughout lockdown and as you say, it’s eerily quiet on the roads. I often cycle the long way home through Hethersett and Wymondham to get to Easton. I love the new cycle path! Looks like we’re in for a nice week of weather. Glad all is well and stay safe.
