Nope, I just pointing out that if someone’s going to go on about fans that saw us through tough times it’ll be half of the current season ticket holder numbers so shouldn’t be a consideration.

I said not before March 2021.
I said it on March 12 when the PL was suspended.
A year hence seemed about right but today it might be optimistic.
At that time some people ,unbelievably, were saying football with crowds would be back within 3 weeks.

Yesterday the chancellor said we were facing the deepest economic downturn in history. I said that 7 weeks ago.
Yesterday Martin Lewis, moneyexpert, told people to be very careful before taking a mortgage payment holiday as it could make it more difficult to change/get a mortgage in future.I first made people aware of that 3 weeks ago.
And now clubs finally realising no chance of crowds seeing any more games in 19/20 season
Something I said 8 weeks ago.
So yes its been a good a couple of days.
I just hope my house price crash prediction doesnt come to fuition as I have a lot to lose.
Re: ARTICLE: Burnley confirm ticket refunds
I think more people perhaps realised this than you think.
It's just that you were the only one calling for office staff to return to the club office to process the refunds; other people were happy to wait for their money until lockdown eased.

Re: ARTICLE: Burnley confirm ticket refunds
I said it on March 12 - what do you want a round of applause?
On 12th March we were still due to be playing at Manchester City. Football was then suspended but it is only recently that there has been confirmation that they will be played behind closed doors if they are played at all. Clubs are now making arrangements across the league to offer refunds. Some clubs have publicised it earlier than us, some clubs are still to publicise any information.
This thread was to discuss the arrangements, what a shame one poster chooses to ruin it with agenda driven nonsense (and that's a polite request to stop posting on this thread and leave it for people to discuss the situation sensibly).

Can’t moan about how the club have handled the refund, I stated previously that I was prepared for not refund for this season however as they are offering it I will accept it.
As for next season going off new infection rates in London falling dramatically I just hope that this is replicated across the country and we get back at the Turf before Christmas.

Thank you to the club for doing this. The wait was completely understandable given the situation we’re in.
How very sad it’s come to this though. I cannot wait until we’re back on the Turf and I will be renewing again at the earliest opportunity available.

Re: ARTICLE: Burnley confirm ticket refunds
The club did the right thing. It would have been silly to process refunds without definitively knowing that fans would not be attending before the end of the season. And despite what Paul Atkinson’s wife says, the club didn’t definitively know this.
Glad that the situation is being resolved. It’s a shame that DD payments for next season aren’t being suspended, but I can understand the logistical issues around that. As many people pay over 12 months they are paying for something in advance, so in many ways the situation is little different to this being the summer break between seasons.

Will be collecting as soon as the club begin to pay up. The club can store it's millions all it wants but not from my money.

I'm sure there's a whole host of reasons why the club is refunding money now and not back in March. As you struggle with a simple task like logging out of your alter-ego's account before posting, I suspect most of them will be too complicated for you to understand.

more communication to the supporters would be a start we are so slow to react always been a problem maybe the media manager needs to lay off the government a little and concentrate on his own role..plenty of businesses owed me money throughout this lockdown all kept me updated to the situation except one which has finally dragged its feet.

They didn't its been **** poor even when i asked the club was told it was a PL decision and every club was in the same position even though some prem clubs were already refunding games and had updated supporter weeks ago we are really weak at communication and have been for a long time..
Re: ARTICLE: Burnley confirm ticket refunds
As others have said plenty of communication on the website. BFC didn’t owe you money until it had been confirmed that matches would be taking place behind closed doors. You may feel that has been obvious for a while, but until it had been confirmed the money wasn’t owed.Sheedyclaret wrote: ↑Wed May 20, 2020 10:35 pmmore communication to the supporters would be a start we are so slow to react always been a problem maybe the media manager needs to lay off the government a little and concentrate on his own role..plenty of businesses owed me money throughout this lockdown all kept me updated to the situation except one which has finally dragged its feet.
Compare this to a comedy gig I was supposed to be going to early April having bought the tickets through Ticketmaster. No formal communication to say it had been cancelled then one email to say they were looking at rescheduling weeks after it supposed to have happened. No offer of my money back.

Re: ARTICLE: Burnley confirm ticket refunds
I don’t think the communication has been brilliant at times and some misinformation has been published, but remember the chief exec left just as the Premier League was shutting down leaving the new man being forced into a role that he could hardly have expected.Sheedyclaret wrote: ↑Wed May 20, 2020 10:48 pmThey didn't its been **** poor even when i asked the club was told it was a PL decision and every club was in the same position even though some prem clubs were already refunding games and had updated supporter weeks ago we are really weak at communication and have been for a long time..
Having said that, I think the club were absolutely correct in delaying the ticket news until this week. As soon as the England U23 game was cancelled they dealt with the refunds and they’ve moved quickly enough once it was confirmed that we wouldn’t be playing any of the forthcoming games other than behind closed doors.
Your comments about the media manager aren’t relevant, in these circumstances the media department will only be publishing what they’ve been told to and when they’ve been told to.
I think a lot of people were getting frustrated at the lack of info but they could only make these refund offers once everything was confirmed.

You might lose the money you have already paid if you don't pay the 2nd DD. In breach of contract as the Government haven't actually said you can't attend next season.
I'm sure the club will refund if you get in touch though.
Il just leave it paying for now. But just seems a bit daft from the club not to suspend payments.

I'm struggling to understand why some people have become as upset as you Sheedy because the Club haven't been making a daily call to tell you when your few quid refund is going to be made. If the matches had been played the money would have been used and you wouldn't have spent all day whinging and whinging about how badly the Club communicate.

We don't know that there will be no supporters on the turf for the next 6-12 months do we. We might take an educated guess but we don't know it for a fact. The games were initially postponed, no refunds were due until it was declared that those games would not be played in front of supporters.Sheedyclaret wrote: ↑Wed May 20, 2020 11:00 pmLet's face it no supporters will be on the turf for the nxt 6 to 12 months bfc knew weeks ago nobody was attending them final home games its in my opinion that we are slow to react with supporters and always have been ....

Some people would only be happy if the chairman hand delivered a cheque or cash with a personal apology for not anticipating the virus when season tickets went on sale last year.
They have done well. I'll take my refund and make a charity donation of my choice but it will be Burnley related.
