Any chance this thread can be pulled? It’s degenerated into a petty squabble between 1 or 2 posters and some alter egos...

Thread has degenerated a bit (some going when you see the subject matter) but fair play to claretonthecoast1882 calling others a bully with a straight face. You have to admire the sheer gall of it.

I clicked on it to see if Trump's Vet had prescribed him anything new.

Well he claimed he was taking a certain drug yesterday which he’d promoted weeks ago.
By my reckoning he’s about 10 days away from trying to inject himself with bleach.

Well I hope whatever he takes next doesn't have him growing another head.

I wondered, but the fact checking websites all seem to think his interest is trivial. If you want one source that can be pretty much guaranteed to be anti-Trump it's this https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/202 ... ed-to-know and they make nothing of his supposed interest. It just seems to be part of his childish "I'm always right" attitude. The good news is that (depending on the dose) he may actually be poisoning himself.

I posted something on this thread ages ago when Trump first started to use his press briefings to promote it. Cant remember if I added the sources but I'll have a check and from memory I think his family members held stock in a linked venture that was either a subsidiary or holding company for the one that owns the drug. Also Im sure one of the biggest shareholders linked to the drug was also one of Trumps largest financial donors

Again if memory serves me right the money to be made was by getting foreign country's health departments to recommend it as their preferred drug and of choice rather than simply making money in the US through sales internally

Would not be surprised if it was something to with that dodgy son in law of his and their corrupt family.

When you are as corrupt and as stupid as DT these things are often a coin toss as to which it is.

Stated last night that having the most coronavirus cases should be worn as a badge of honor. Shows American testing is the best.
Also threatened to hold virus aid payments to Michigan if the state issues mail in ballots for the November election. He has voted absentee several times including the most recent election in April.

The republicans in general are fighting tooth and nail, to prevent mail in voting being used across all class divides. Lower and middle class workers sometimes struggle(or can't be bothered) to vote. If voting becomes mail in for all Americans, the numbers would look really scary to Don,Mitch and his crew. Voter suppression is key for Republicans to hold power.

You may well be right taffy but lets look at it this way.

If you are correct then I would be guilty of accepting that someone with a female name and who has posted that she is a female actually gave false information and I believed it.

On the other hand if you are wrong and she is female then you would be guilty of constantly attacking a woman online (you aren't on your own there are a couple of others on here too) bordering on bullying her in the hope of making yourself feel good.

I know which the vast majority of normal people would prefer to be guilty of. Hopefully you are right I am sure the 3 amigos on here wouldn't want to be classed as male bullies who target women online with abuse.
Have you read her/his/they's posts?........that's what i'm responding to! I don't give a toss about Gender.
It's the rambling drivel..the mangling of language, poor spelling and punctuation.........all whilst pretending to be superior in intellect to everyone else on here. When challenged on any point... He/She/They resort to uncommon nastiness & personal insults.
I suspect He/She/They may have mental problems........You might want to read a few before jumping to Her/His/They's defense.

Trump says China 'could have stopped plague'

US President Donald Trump has again taken to Twitter in criticism of China's handling of the outbreak, saying "they could have easily stopped the plague, but didn't".

Though he fell short of naming Chinese President Xi Jinping, he added that it "all comes from the top".

He then re-iterated that China wanted Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden to win the next election as they can "continue to rip-off the United States, as they have done for decades, until I came along".

I'll give Trump credit he's great at deflecting from his own failings.

Some of the stuff I've been reading over the last week or so indicate that Trumps campaign strategy will be to position the election as a referendum on China with the Republican being anti-China and the Dems being Pro China.

Its likely to be run in the same way vote leave ran the EU referendum campaign focusing on some very simple ideas and slogans (the message is more important about the facts and truth behind it) with the Dems left trying to articulate a more complex and nuanced position.

It will also require some good strategy around how they avoid too much scrutiny on handing of the Covid crisis and the state of the economy but If they can do that and suck the Dems into a referendum style of election then I can see Trump being successful and getting another term

Democrats had one job, that was to put up a half competent candidate and they've failed abjectly. Trump probably can't believe his luck.

Stick every penny to your name on another term.

A lot will depend on who Biden picks for a running mate.
Trump and the Republicans will do everything they can to suppress the vote......its going to get dirty!

I just hope that moderate Republicans and swing voters have 'Trump fatigue'......

Polling's mixed from what i can ascertain,here's a snapshot from the most recent.https://twitter.com/Politics_Polls?ref_ ... age%3D241

There does appear to have been a shift to Biden and the Dems in recent days, but remember Trump could lose the popular vote and still win the the EC.

A couple that caught me eye

Kentucky Senate GE:
Mitch McConnell (R-inc) 47%
Democratic opponent 44%

Suggests that if the Dems really run a strong campaign(i know) they could unseat the Republican big beast.

Would do a better job handling...

Health care:
Biden 57% (+20)
Trump 37%
.
The response to the coronavirus:
Biden 55% (+16)
Trump 39%
.
The economy:
Biden 48% (+1)
Trump 47%

The concern for Trump here is that Biden is seen as just as credible on the economy, that will surely be Trump's key message in the campaign, unless the strategy's changed due to CV.

Would you describe your financial situation these days as excellent, good, not so good, or poor?

Excellent/Good 72%
Not so good/Poor 27%

To counter that narrative nearly 3/4 of Americans still are happy with their personal finances, and that's a big factor in voting i'm sure.

And yet more than half state the nation's economic outlook isn't so favourable.it's paradoxical.

And lastly trust,leadership & empathy.

Would you say that Joe Biden is...

Honest:
Yes 47%
No 41%
.
Has good leadership skills:
Yes 51%
No 40%
.
Cares about average Americans:
Yes 61%
No 30%

Would you say that Donald Trump is...

Honest:
Yes 34%
No 62%
.
Has good leadership skills:
Yes 40%
No 58%
.
Cares about average Americans:
Yes 42%
No 56%

Those figures should be music to Biden and the Dems, but will they translate into votes.

On Biden's running mate Elizabeth Warren is the rumoured VP pick, but there's nothing definitive coming from the Biden camp.

When you consider the state of an 'average' American, perfectly understandable!

The man without a mask in a mask at all times, factory, in Michigan, should have been asked to leave.

Donny has said places of worship must be opened this weekend as they’re deemed ‘essential services’ and he’ll override any governors who don’t comply.

Just, really normal behaviour.

As for Biden....said above what I think about that choice. Even worse than Hillary.

Texans queue up for rule-breaking waterpark

Americans are flocking to beaches and parks over the Memorial Day weekend, which marks the unofficial start of the summer season in the US.

In the state of Texas, up to 2,000 people queued up on Saturday to get into the Big Rivers Waterpark, which reopened in defiance of a state order, local media report.

State Governor Greg Abbott has ordered waterparks to remain closed amid the pandemic though pools, bowling alleys and skating rinks are some of the recreational facilities allowed to reopen.

The Houston Chronicle reported that many people crowded together in the queue to get into the park, with little apparent social distancing. The park said it was limiting the number of people allowed into the park to just over 2,000, which is 16% of its capacity.

Texas reported just over 1,000 new cases of the virus on Saturday.

And this could prove a game-changer in November.

High unemployment 'to last into US election season'
A senior White House economic adviser predicts many Americans will still be jobless when US voters go to the polls in November.

Kevin Hassett told CNN's "State of the Union" on Sunday that the unemployment rate will probably remain high despite his prediction economic growth will "skyrocket" later this year.

"Unemployment will be something that moves back slower," Hasset told CNN. "You're going to be starting at a number in the 20s and working your way down."

Some 2.4 million Americans sought unemployment benefits last week, despite hopes that easing lockdown restrictions would help restart the US economy.

The new filings brought the total since mid-March to roughly 38.6 million - almost a quarter of the workforce.

The current official unemployment rate in the US is 14.7%
