They've signed 9 new players today, some of whom are there on loan until January.

Have all their previous debts to ex-players been settled in full,if not then it's scandalous they can assemble an entire 1st team.

I note they've got a home EFL Cup match against Bradford City tomorrow evening, let's see how many attend, that will be a gauge of their recovery.

Following Steve Dale's nonsense delusional statement at Bury this evening I find that Bolton's new owners have appointed Phil Gartside's son as Chief Exec - you know because his father was so in touch with reality and kept them on a sensible level

Couple of interesting items in today's Mail - financial problems appear far from over

Peter Kenyon's Bolton link is a worry
Peter Kenyon's emergence as an adviser to Bolton Wanderers has sparked fears that the club have more financial problems and may need fresh investment less than five months after being bought by the Football Ventures group.

The former Manchester United and Chelsea chief executive has specialised in finding new investors for clubs in recent years, putting together bids to buy both Newcastle and Sunderland which did not come off.

Bolton's cash-flow issues do not appear to have been completely solved by the Football Ventures takeover.

Following a flurry of free transfers in September, manager Keith Hill has signed only one player this month, while Football Ventures still owe administrator Paul Appleton almost £1million and a football adviser £660,000 for work done last summer.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
and for Laurence Bassini the pursuit of fantasy comes home to roost

Laurence Bassini takes out IVA after failed bid to buy Bolton
Laurence Bassini has taken out an Individual Voluntary Arrangement (IVA) due to his inability to settle debts arising from his failed bid to buy Bolton last summer.

The former Watford owner owes money for outstanding legal fees arising from his protracted takeover attempt at Bolton, which collapsed just before the start of the season. Bassini, who has twice been declared bankrupt, has agreed to a formal repayment schedule as an alternative to a third bankruptcy order.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The club themselves have revealed that they are about to go moneyball in the recruitment stakes
https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/1 ... -approach/

not sure how that differentiates them to be honest as almost every club in the pyramid does it in some form or another

If they were a racehorse they would have been put down by now.

Bury didn’t even get to start the race.

I'll double his bid for them based on what they are worth, at ALDI today you didn't need a quid for the trolley a lad was cleaning the returns and you collected them therefore one English pound for Bolton Wanderers...any advance on that or has the sun got to me today ?

Strange goings on - Ground and land to the side have been mortgaged in what seems to be a bid to pay off the administrators from last summer (even though the new owners - Football Ventures said they would do that themselves -obviously pre-covid19)

https://twitter.com/KieranMaguire/statu ... 53/photo/1

the old company is still in admin (nice earner)

Is this related to the financial impact of Covid?

Hard to tell (but it definitely will not have helped) unless one of the parties releases a statement - the administrators are the only winners as they will still be billing fees with the old co still not out of admin/closed down

Reading some of the comments there and I get the feeling the Bolton fans aren't surprised but they seem to mention that this was all meant to be settled before last Xmas?

Bolton have claimed that the mortgage was part of the takeover deal agreed in August last year and have just been progressing through the system

https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/news/18 ... ies-house/

which is strange as it takes a only a few weeks at most for companies house to be notified and publish - there are legalities around this procedure -.Not that Sheffield United paid much attention to them.

then today another 2 mortgages appear at companies house against the estate that manged the land/assets in yesterdays filing

https://twitter.com/KieranMaguire/statu ... 14/photo/1

though the club are insisting privately that they are all connected

https://twitter.com/MarcIles/status/1268076566279577607

and the really good news is that the Administrators have confirmed they have been paid - so we can all sleep soundly for them

https://twitter.com/MarcIles/status/1268103547981348866

The club themselves say they want confirmation of the season ending so they can get on with reshaping themselves for next season in League 2
