1-1...City have bigger fish to fry than us.
Re: Predictions for Man City v Burnley
4-0 to them. We have key injuries. If they have any it won’t make any difference. Their bench will be very strong and they can use more subs.

Their style of play suits an empty stadium and they have strength in depth so 4-0 to them

I think we'll score, but they have too much firepower 3-1 to City.

Re: Predictions for Man City v Burnley
Oddly I think we'll get 2 in the first half.
One really early and another from a corner.
Then keep hoofing it into the stands (no ball boys - SD is clever).
0 - 2 to the Mighty Clarets
And a tetchy elbow touch between Pep and SD at full time.

Its a different world. Three - two to the Clarets.

As we're completely safe, I'd like to see us giving it a real go.
Maybe 2-2?
Maybe 2-2?

They will want to make a statement like they often like to do against us. We are a team they will relish to score lots against due to our reputation in defence. I'm expecting another trudging but I'm just glad we are fortunate for it not to matter so much at this stage in the season.

Anything better than a 3-0 win to City will be a good outcome.

Our first game in this strange mini-season might as well be one we're expected to lose - use this to sort out some of the differences we need to adjust to before playing games where we might expect to start getting points

7-0 with city turning on the style including one overhead, one bicycle, and one scissor kick from outside the box!!!
Re: Predictions for Man City v Burnley
Can you please explain the difference between those three?
I'm going for a gutsy 1-1 with some great defence from us.

Re: Predictions for Man City v Burnley
Barnes, JBG and Wood are carrying knocks/longer term injuries, so i'll be surprised if we see any of them appearing at the Etihad.LoveCurryPies wrote: ↑Wed Jun 17, 2020 11:22 amAre all the players fully fit or is Barnes still out?
And obviously Gibson isn't available, but apart from that the rest are all ready to go, how match fit they'll be is a good but that applies to every team, so it shouldn't be a huge problem. What's more concerning is if either Jay or Vydra pick up an injury, although the suggestion from some posters is that we'll go 4-5-1 on Monday, with Jay up front on his own.
Tonight will give us an idea of how motivated City are for the rest of the season, but given they've still got a chance of another 2 trophies, i'd imagine they'd be super motivated to impress Pep.
Westwood has 9 yellows to his name, is he still at risk of suspension? or his that threshold been passed, I've a nagging feeling that he's still walking a tightrope, which isn't ideal when facing City first up.

Just down to interpretation as kids and it's just stuck. We used to call an overhead kick like Rooney scored against City, a bicycle kick like Barnes scored at WBA and a scissor kick like Di Cannio scored for West Ham.

0-3 to boys in claret and blue.
The City players will be stood still perplexed at the city attendance and why the support has continued as normal. This is where we’ll sneak past a confused city backline and score not one, not two but three goals all within a 85 minute Burnley spell of devilish football only ever seen before on the beaches of Rio.

Re: Predictions for Man City v Burnley
A loss is more or less inevitable, the key to this game is to protect our rather impressive -6 goal difference. Personally I don't have a 'warm and fuzzy' feeling about the rest of this season despite our 39 points. Our squad is small to begin with, Wood and Barnes being out certainly doesn't help matters. All form is out the window, the traditional 40 point safety mark may not be a factor this season. One can only trust Dyche to pull another couple of rabbits out of his hat.

If anybody still thinks we'll go down i just checked the latest odds we're 250/1 to be relegated, which is even longer odds than Crystal Palace amongst many others.exilecanada wrote: ↑Wed Jun 17, 2020 8:33 pmA loss is more or less inevitable, the key to this game is to protect our rather impressive -6 goal difference. To put this into perspective Bornemouth, Norwich & Villa are all odds on for the drop, and Villa's cause wasn't helped by tonight's result, yes they scrapped a fluky draw, but they didn't look to have improved from their pre-lockdown form, if anyone really thinks we're in danger of the bottom 3 i'd lump a wedge on ASAP, it'd be a license to print money, we're more likely to qualify for Europe than be involved in a relegation scrap, as it happens i suspect we'll finish mid-table, a top 10 slot is well achievable with our remaining fixtures, have a bit of positivism.
As to who will drop IDK, but it's a safe bet that it'll be 3 from the current bottom 6, that much we can be fairly certain about.

Looks like Garcia will be out of the game on Monday
Been having treatment on the pitch for last 5mins after clashing with Ederson. Looks like he’s been knocked out

I don't give a rats a**se what bookies say, until we're mathematically safe I won't rest easy, we don't make things easy for ourselves at times, it's the Burnley way. I hope your is evaluation correct, this is an important season for the club, financially speaking.

There is no way that those teams at the bottom are going to win FOUR more games than us in the final nine games. We are safe.

Just wondering whether any team has been relegated 12 points ahead
with 9 games to go?
Can't think of anyone off the top of my head.

I'm sure we'll pick up a minimum of 3 points from our last 9 games. Not often 42 points don't assure survival.exilecanada wrote: ↑Wed Jun 17, 2020 10:26 pmI don't give a rats a**se what bookies say, until we're mathematically safe I won't rest easy, we don't make things easy for ourselves at times, it's the Burnley way.
