Except he was a starter for most of the 2016 season when he did.
For the last 11 games ! Not when he first started when he was...... Benched - next?
Oh not to mention had ample chances of getting signed off a team but always finds a way to mess it up then blow it up in the press.
Was meant to have a private workout for all 32 teams last season but fobbed it off last minute and did his own and filmed it instead. No one wants him

Oh I fully understand. I understand I and every other white man is being tarred a racist simply for being white
I'll kneel for my queen and country and that's it. why would I kneel for a drug fuelled armed robber ?
Players are told to tow the line and they're scared not to .. I'm not, I will not attend if players kneel or wear BLM and so will many others
Hats off to Dominic Raab by the way
Good news for you, due to Covid you've got the perfect excuse not to attend.

I'd have to go back and look at the context. It's normally clear and easy to see what pronouns like this refer to though.
In spoken language "this" often contextually referred to through eye contact, pointing or other clear indicators such as the informally agreed topic of conversation.
In written language the use of "this" differs slightly whereby the item to which it refers is normally specifically mentioned at least once. "This" is then used as a pronoun to avoid repetition.
Serious question: Why have you chosen to turn this into a grammar debate?
It’s not a grammar debate, I wonder what you meant when you said some people don’t want to see ‘this’ is a domestic American issue.

Not sure why anyone thinks racism at football matches in this country has all but gone when reported incidents have increased over the last 3 years.

Hopefully that's because we are more confident to report it and when we do action happens, also perhaps and hopefully another reason more people realise racism is a curse on society and football and want it eradicating.

“Soldiers take a knee in front of a fallen brother's grave, you know, to show respect.“
I have never seen a British soldier kneeling at a grave to pay respects - I have seen them standing to attention And saluting or bowing their heads.
Perhaps the concept of kneeling has different conatations in the uk. I cannot think of any situation, other than church, where it Is customary to kneel except in front of the Queen

And there you go missing the point - The inspiration was given to Kaepernick, people in other countries did the same to align with a uniform message across the globe, that is all.

Wrongly labelling someone a racist often highlights the lack of knowledge the accusers actually have on the subject.
A lack of knowledge? Oh the irony! Is this the same MACCA that claimed to not understand the significance of a monkey impression directed at Scott Sinclair just over 3 years ago?

Not missing the point, you put up a link to why Kaepernick used kneeling to make his point. That’s not how we show respect in this country except to the Queen. Why should we adopt a custom that means something different, why don’t you respect Raabs belief that he only kneels for the Queen?

Not quite so straightforward, in my view. For the 2016 season Kaepernick was coming back from injuries so physically wasn't up to job for the start of the season.
I don't know what happened in the 1st instance to provoke him to "take a knee", perhaps it was the benching, perhaps a Damascene moment. What I do know is that, quite unusually, he was the adopted child of a white couple. Perhaps it took him some time to take a (figurative) stand.
The Seahawks seemed quite keen to take him and Pete Carroll has stated he regretted not signing him in 2017 (undoubtedly as back-up to Russell Wilson). It's also on record that he filed a grievance with the NFL before a confidential settlement was reached.

Missing the point again - Raab is the Foreign Minister, he was Deputy Prime Minister, the BLM issue has played out massively at home and abroad (most notably in the country of our key Strategic ally) in the last few weeks and has been the subject of recent enquiries by the government in this country, and he has chosen not to have a briefing on it's history and symbolism, yet he appears fully up to speed with Game of Thrones

I wonder if all the players themslves no why they are taking the knee. Anti racism or support of BLM. I certainly have my doubts.

I'm sure none of them are so ignorant to think they are simply kneeling for a "career criminal on drugs" though, as AC said.

So whys it racist?
When a stranger calls a child in my care a cheeky monkey, or they can be little monkeys cant they, do I need to report them for racist abuse?
Just wondering.
Obviously I've never done any gestures myself towards anyone, however I've been called a big fate ape, as has Grant Hanley, just wondering where we stand.
Also been called pikey quite often, which I also learnt was a racist slur the other week.
Always happy to be educated and broaden my knowledge.

Are you really claiming the person doing monkey gestures at Scott Sinclair isn't doing it for racially motivated reasons? Have a word with yourself.

Yes. This should be BFC making a statement as an organisation, not individuals.
So you think the club shoukd get itself involved in this? They have more sense. They can condemn racism as we sll should but not make a statement about BLM. And taking the knee. No

You know what Macca - as soon as you ask why it’s racist to call a black person a monkey and start to introduce phrases like cheeky monkey or fat ape to try and justify your argument the game really is up.
Asking to be educated / your knowledge broadened is so transparently disingenuous it’s embarrassing.

You're questioning whether or why the incident was racist. Surely you can see that a.) yes it is racist, and b.) why it is racist?
You don't seem to realise it, but it's ignorance like this, and the unwillingness to accept the issue exists that is part of the problem. Attitudes like yours are a lot more common than I thought, judging by this board over the past few weeks. They are why we are seeing widespread protests which has filtered down to footballers making a statement.

I just can't believe you'd see a fan making monkey gestures and proceed to argue about whether it's racist or not.
If you're anything to go by, we have a long, long way to go and it's little wonder players, to name one group, are fed up to the back teeth of it.

Fully aware racism exists, been s victim of it myself numerous times aswell as seen and heard it aimed towards friends and family.
Maybe you only recognise racism when you're the victim of it then. I can't think of any other reason for the mammoth hole you've got yourself into above.

I just can't believe you'd see a fan making monkey gestures and proceed to argue about whether it's racist or not.
If you're anything to go by, we have a long, long way to go and it's little wonder players, to name one group, are fed up to the back teeth of it.
Not sure I saw it to be honest.
I think, well hope everyone is getting sick of it to be honest. Its 2020 for goodness sake

You've had a mare, but well done for the swift backtracking. At least that's something I suppose.
