Now TV Player, is it rubbish?
Just taken out a 1 month subscription for £25 so I can watch matches on my laptop. I don’t have TV, cable, or satellite so watching online is my only option.
Anyone else doing the same and are having issues with buffering, poor streaming etc. A bit annoying, it’s not as if I ever have the same issues with YouTube or Netflix.

What is your wifi speed?
YouTube does not take much but proper TV might.

If your near enough to your router and there is an ethernet port on your laptop you could connect directly to the router with a 'patch cable' (cost about a fiver e.g. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Rhinocables-me ... 181&sr=8-3. If there is no ethernet port you would need a 'USB to ethernet adapter' Cost about 13 squid e.g. https://www.amazon.co.uk/ATOLLA-Etherne ... 35&sr=8-17.

Bought a stick for my tv last week. Watched 5/6 games on it without any problems whatsoever.

Thanks for those suggestions UnderSeige. Interestingly this evening’s game streamed a lot more smoothly, though the Now player does feel very clunky. Not a big fan so far.UnderSeige wrote: ↑Sun Jun 21, 2020 8:44 pmIf your near enough to your router and there is an ethernet port on your laptop you could connect directly to the router with a 'patch cable' (cost about a fiver e.g. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Rhinocables-me ... 181&sr=8-3. I have Now TV via a BT TV box and watch via ethernet cables through plug in mini-extenders these turn our house wiring into an ethernet cable ... as long as your broadband speed is high enough you should have no problem.... occasionally we have a freeze up but very rarely...
I also watch Now TV on my PC occasionally ... also via my phone.... messing about I found I can cast my phone to the TV (Now TV and also Disney TV also Clarets Player)

It’s more likely to be other applications running on your PC than the now TV stream, turn off windows updates (if it’s a Windows PC), and check that nothing else is running. Your speed lols absolutely fine, but what’s your latency? Use speedcheck (google it) to analyse properly. Also check your antivirus isn’t running too

Apologies for late response, Chekhov.
Right advice to get the max out of your router, was given above.
Also worth doing a speed check to see what is happening at the time..
Glad things were better, next time you tried.
Fingers crossed for you, tonight.

Thanks. As for tonight I’m not greatly excited to watch. I think we’re going to get the run-around.

If you are watching on a computer, would Sky Mobile App not be better? Less than £10 a month

Re: Now TV Player, is it rubbish?
I've signed up and added the £3/month boost - free trial for my first 7 days, which ends tomorrow. Quality has been good through all the games I've watched so far. Think I'll give NOW the benefit and leave the £3 in place until August.chekhov wrote: ↑Sun Jun 21, 2020 4:54 pmJust taken out a 1 month subscription for £25 so I can watch matches on my laptop. Can anyone give me any help ………..trying to get onto Now tv site with Voucher codes given via BFC , but tried a few times don't see how I can paste one of my codes in to NEW customers as no sign mention of new customer anywhere AND it keeps telling me NOW TV NOT available at the moment.

Re: Now TV Player, is it rubbish?
I signed up at lunchtime as a new customer. The instructions are not very clear.
Followed the link provided in the email for new customers. At the next prompt I put the first code in. This took me to another prompt for a voucher code with a greyed out button saying apply voucher, at this prompt enter the second voucher code (re-entering the first code did not work) and then click the button, I was then taken to the Now TV set up account site. You have to do this even though the voucher is free.
I am casting the picture from iPad to my smart tv (Sony Bravia) and the picture is impressive, much better than the Pick TV channel.
