Re: Lowton
I posted on an earlier thread he has replaced Jeff Hendrick as the kicking boy for those sad acts who always have to have one.
You don’t keep 12 clean sheets with a weak link at full back.

I am glad we signed Bardsley as well
We now don’t have to spend £10 million on a younger full back who at the moment would be no better than our 2 current right backs

Yer did well so no need to pick at him i would say .
It would be very hard to pick issues with any player tonight .

Re: Lowton
Why would anyone use Lowton as the whipping boy when Hendrick and more especially Joe Harte are still Burnley players until the end of June? They might have already gone home, but I suspect that they're contractually obliged to continue taking the blame for pretty well everything for another five days yet.

I’ve read Lowton being overweight a few times recently which is absolute ********! I’ve also read Brownhill being over weight tonight... clueless.

Re: Lowton
To be fair, Lowton definitely looks a bit heavier to me. It's not a criticism, it's just how I see it. Still, his energy levels were good tonight and he got up and down the flank in hot conditions.Burnley1989 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 25, 2020 9:22 pmI’ve read Lowton being overweight a few times recently which is absolute ********! I thought he had a few wayward passes, but they all did, on both sides.
He does have a lockdown haircut though doesn’t he

Overweight my arse.
If you want to see over weight, come and watch me trying to get out if bed at 6am tomorrow, and I've not just put in a gruelling shift in 30 degree heat!
Soon as he gets his mop chopped itll take a few lbs off him.
You always look thinner with a fresh trim.

Re: Lowton
Does look to have gone a bit Luke Shaw to me.
Great game tonight and despite being clinically obese he also played well at City (think he was only out of position for one their goals).
Maybe they should all go on the Lowton diet?

100 premier league appearances for the club, for Lowton last night.

He’s playing well, but anyone who can’t see he’s put on weight needs a trip to Specsavers!

Re: Lowton
I had a pop at Lowton pre match but must say he was excellent last night.
Lowtons trouble is he is inconsistent, he will only be able to keep his performance levels up for 3 or 4 games before he goes back to being a liability

Re: Lowton
I have never understood this argument about inconsistency. If he wasn't inconsistent he would not be playing for Burnley but be playing at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium every other week.Top Claret wrote: ↑Fri Jun 26, 2020 11:55 amI had a pop at Lowton pre match but must say he was excellent last night.

Re: Lowton
Nothing against Lowton, or any other Burnley player for that matter, however, 6 out of those 12 clean sheets the right back has been Phil Bardsley!huw.Y.WattfromWare wrote: ↑Thu Jun 25, 2020 8:31 pmI posted on an earlier thread he has replaced Jeff Hendrick as the kicking boy for those sad acts who always have to have one.

Which of course means for 6 out of twelve it wasn't Phil Bardsley

I wish I was that overweight
Don't think we need to worry about a RB this season and file that as something to think about next year, Jan time frame.
Thought the whole team performance was good
