Good half, Burnley!
Some of our football, the way we've moved the ball about, has been bloody marvellous.
Just short of one killer pass and a goal.

Bloomin eck we've had nearly 60% possession, when did we last have that much of the ball in a PL game.

Plenty pf positives to take from that half despite the fact we haven't scored.

Brownhill's growing into his new role, McNeil's a threat, and we're playing some good stuff, just lack that cutting edge, more of the same 2nd half please.

Plenty on here talked about how much better we look when we get it down and play and this first half backs that up. No end product, but dominated the ball and looked sharper all over the pitch. More of the same second half. If Dwight isn't too knackered he will play a big part.

Fk them. Edge box. McNeil clipd .
van Aanholt should have been booked for a deliberate clip earlier on in our own half and still didn't get booked for this. He must think he can foul all he wants in this game. Ref very poor.

McNeil easily best player on the pitch in first half, only problem him playing in the middle is we miss him on the left. Brownhill also done well and some good balls from Westwood, fear a little for Vydra, seems very isolated on his own up top but no options to change that unfortunately.

Some good football on display there. All that's needed is a few more clear cut chances.

We're playing well and we're the better team. Let's hope we can push on.

Good first half and great to see Brownhill looking at home at this level. Watching Dwight in his free role tonight you can see how much better he could look in a more creative and attack minded team.

Hopefully we will have him next year but after that he really needs to move on to bigger and better if he wants to develop and start knocking on the England managers door.

Brownhill is having a good game as well as McNeil.

Only one nagging doubt in my mind, anyone know where our goal(s) will come from? I just can't see where.

You think so? We have played really well this half and created some half decent chances, I honestly think the hoofball is easier to defend against for a side like palace. Last season at their place being an example.

To be fair, with our bench it might’ve been Woys tactic to let us have the ball and soak it up. He’s got options, we haven’t. Likely to get tougher for us as the game goes on. I’d give Thompson a run out for last 20 minutes, save Vyds legs after nearly 3 full games.

That one could be hung on Ben Mee for holding out so long. Within his rights but it screwed us.
Stay or go we still needed a 4th central defender.

The reason behind Gibson leaving the club is what screwed us. If that was associated with the promise of a move in the Winter window, which we didn't link to a minimum offer, or we turned down an offer that met our minimum the fault lies with our recruitment strategy / implementation.

Broken promises always rub people up the wrong way. Then again something unrelated to football might have been behind the strained relations that resulted in Gibsons departure.

Definitely a strange game this, thread bare formation from us, Palace struggling to find a performance. Thankfully we got Bardsley back or the injury to Lowton would have really hurt us.

Could go either way.
