T'Rovers v Leeds ... 4th July

Post by Clarets4me » Mon Jun 29, 2020 6:29 am

Two of posters least favorite teams on here meet next Saturday ....

Do we want our friends from Ewood to put a dent in Leeds' title hopes, and spark fears of another end of season implosion at Elland Road, or do we want Leeds to administer a potentially terminal blow to Rover's play-off hopes ??

It's a tough one .... ;)

Leeds will win the Championship comfortably, they didn't play that well at the weekend and comfortably battered Fulham - I want them to win by at least 5 goals

Can't see Leeds missing out this time so a double figures hammering off the horse botherers at BollEwood would do me fine

Now, do you mean "of " or " off ", it changes the meaning substantially, depending on which one ??

Couldn’t care less about Leeds, actually would like them to go up. Any idea we have of some sort of rivalry feels like Stockport with us.

Whereas I hope the Bas****s end up mid table, get liquidated and Ewood Park gets bulldozed.

So a Leeds win for me.

Maybe a draw with a couple if injuries and red cards for each team?
I don't want a Rovers side ever to win a game, ever, so if its 1 side that has to win, I'm afraid its Leeds.

Leeds to win, then get 3 pts deducted for confusion during a multiple substitution, and then having 12 on the field while they scored the winning goal!! :D

Can't bring myself to will a Rovers win against any team. In a perfect world, a 1-1 draw and Leeds implode. Allowing WBA and Brentford to take top two spots. Leeds then lose 1-0 in the Play Off Final to Nottingham Forest. However. Leeds' run in looks relatively easy.

Just found a half-forgotten betting slip from 4th August 2019 .... It appears that in a rare moment of foresight, I placed a combination of singles, doubles and a treble on West Brom, Rotherham & Plymouth to be promoted at 5/2,11/4 and 7/4 respectively. West Brom's promotion will turn my £18.50 into £271.61 !!

Boinng, Boinng !! Up the Baggies ! God bless Tony Brown, Frank Skinner, Cyril Regis, Laurie Cunningham RIP, and John Wylie !!

That works for me. Personally, I despise Leeds more than Barstewards - it's a family thing - but in this instance they might as well win as they'll be coming up anyway; there's always a sliver lining: With Leeds in the EPL for one season, we at least know where six of our necessary 40 points will come from.

For some reason ( ??? ), I put £2.50 on 3 singles, £2 on 3 doubles & a £5 on the treble ... I don't usually bet, it was probably Cheltenham, when I next went into a bookies ! Even if West Brom implode, there's always the play offs, and even if they fail there, I've nearly doubled my money !

Rovers still on verge of play-offs - despite Saturday's result, and have Barnsley midweek, so could easily be back in touch with 6th place by the weekend, and Leeds are almost certain to go up. So it's obvious to go for a Leeds win. Don't want Rovers anywhere near the play-offs on the last day of the season.

Not in my DNA to ever want Rovers to win, so a Dirty Leeds victory please, however
unpalatable in itself that may be.

No contest.

If Blackburn were playing Beelzebub's guest XI, with Adolf Hitler in goal, Pol Pot in midfield, Chairman Mao on the left wing and Joseph Stalin up front I'd still want them to lose.

Quite looking forward to Leeds in the prem with the obligatory media love in “ back where they belong” “worlds biggest club “ etc only to see them smashed to pieces and sent straight back down !

Are Billy Bremner and Norman Hunter fit? If they play, it's no contest. 0-6.

I think when they played, was the last time I cared about their results, and I always wanted them to lose.

Leeds and West Brom are couple of bang average outfits, if they were anybit like they would be running away with promotion by now, fortunately for them the chasing pack or even worse, bar Brentford who have found some form.

Wouldn't worry about Rovers who look like they have been all season mid table.

Play offs West Brom, Cardiff, Forest and Fulham

Leeds going up has been a given for some time. I'd sooner it be damage limitation by Rovers failing to reach the playoffs.

Leeds are going up anyway, so no brainer has to be a Leeds win, gotta keep Rovers away from those play-offs, and TBH don't really care who wins the league. A draw wouldn't be too bad an outcome, but anything but a Rovers win for me.

Just as long as they beat the English at rugby.

I see Hitler as a sort of sweeper in the role Luther matthaus finished in. He's not big enough for a keeper. I thought of replacing him with trump, but his small hands would be useless. Right wing for him, maybe.
Bin ladin or Farage in goal then. Prince Andrew up front. You need someone in the line up that can score regularly.

You'd hope so, they're 11th as it stands, and the sides above them aren't all likely to capitulate, they effectively need to better Cardiff by 3 wins, tough ask with only 5 matches remaining, even if their next trip is to Cardiff, by this time next week Rovers could be having their end of season party.

The :?: then is do Venky's jump ship, unlikely after all the money they've poured into keeping Rovers afloat, and will TM and many of their star names still be at Ewood next season, they surely can't keep maintaining their current wage budget in the midst of covid, and yet another season of Championship football.

Its all doom and gloom over on Radio Blackburn.
Apparently, there's loads of players departing Deadwood
after the season (including both keepers) lots of positions need filling from scratch.

Still, ne'er mind...

I'll feel better with them in League 2 and to stay there. I don't want them to go out of business, just to stay there.

Let's hope next season is a bit more positive for us.

Not being a financial whiz kid I wouldn't smirk to much but this and another site seem to indicate that Venkys are not making profit and debt is increasing . Best get shut of this dead weight of a football club and let them do a Bolton.

Perhaps send someone like Joey Barton in there as their next manager. He could do a good job for us under cover.😀
