Re: Lee Johnson
Well different positions, but as far as I know, (a) Brownhill leaving wasn't under his control and he was gutted to see him leave and (b) Nahki Wells overall seemed a decent signing.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Sat Jul 04, 2020 6:35 pmthat's what happens when you replace Brownhill with Nakhi Wells !
It seems that the board have more of a say as to who comes in and and who leaves, than Johnson does. I think he was unfortunate, and it really wouldn't surprise me to see him go to another club and do very very well.

Looking at the Brizzle forum (cause Wolves v Arsenal is sending me to sleep) they seem very grateful the job he has done

Ah fair enough, sorry pal. Yeah, I think he's done a really decent job, and I know a Bristol City fan who did say things changed when Brownhill left.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Sat Jul 04, 2020 6:45 pmtwas a joke !!!

Re: Lee Johnson
No compensation now.
Get him signed on. In fact Dyche can put him on the coaching staff until the end of the season.

Re: Lee Johnson
View from a Bristol City supporting friend....
"Took us as far as he could. A great coach but his man management was poor. Players who are leaving are the most creative players and he had no Plan B. We didn’t have an identity or a good brand of football compared to how we were a couple of seasons back."
I've brushed up on the spelling and grammar a little bit.

Re: Lee Johnson
A Bristol City fan phoned me when we were linked with him. It was almost a request to take him. He was amazed he hadn’t been sacked some time ago.
Re: Lee Johnson
Crikey, I didn't realise we'd been linked with him. Presume lazy journalism from someone who doesn't know what they are talking about.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sat Jul 04, 2020 7:27 pmA Bristol City fan phoned me when we were linked with him. Re: Lee Johnson
I think we'll see him again in the next few years and he'll do well. There's just something about his management/playing style that just makes me think he's learning and will get a lot better. Gut instinct.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sat Jul 04, 2020 7:27 pmA Bristol City fan phoned me when we were linked with him. It was almost a request to take him. Re: Lee Johnson
The only reason that happened was because some parts of the media suggested he was being targeted by the Burnley board.
Who knows though. Eddie Howe and Sean, hadn't done much before they joined us. Even Judas did OK for a while and he hadn't done much either.

I meant that it was sparked by the media. I doubt any Burnley fan would see Lee Johnson as an adequate replacement for Sean Dyche.

Re: Lee Johnson
But they wouldn't sack him if that were the case? They'd want us to pay for him.Gordaleman wrote: ↑Sat Jul 04, 2020 7:33 pmThe only reason that happened was because some parts of the media suggested he was being targeted by the Burnley board.

He's a very young manager and I really do think he's going to turn out to be a very good manager.

Rumours in the game that a certain idiotic welsh CB went in there and absolutely ruined the dressing room and any chance the manager had. Touting himself for the job to anyone who would listen.

And could do a lot better. The Brentford manager for starters (although they may get promoted which wouldn't help)

Re: Lee Johnson
Yes, we could but given the current environment, the board might look for someone who wouldn't demand a huge salary.boatshed bill wrote: ↑Sat Jul 04, 2020 8:06 pmAnd could do a lot better. The Brentford manager for starters (although they may get promoted which wouldn't help)
Don't even think about it though. Sean's going nowhere.

That seems to fit.
Having never been inside the club you can’t say for sure, but from an external view, the cap certainly fits.

What though? I think the hatred of him was because of his age. But I've never seen what he's clearly done wrong. He's been honest with some of his players. He was openly honest with Brownhill.Danieljwaterhouse wrote: ↑Sat Jul 04, 2020 8:48 pmThat seems to fit.

Ryan Lowe looking the most likely at the moment but the front runners swap around a lot immediately after a dismissal
