guard of honour
I hope someone can enlighten me on this. We gave Liverpool the 'guard of honour' before today's game. I was under the impression that the 'guard of honour' was done by whoever the champions were playing next once confirmed? It appears Liverpool have had one every game since. When did this come in?
Re: guard of honour
Is it not because they've won it so early? A lot of seasons go down to the last couple of games and therefore not many games left to do it
Re: guard of honour
To be fair it's not their fault....

Yep.
We only allowed them one way through that, as well.

I thought Bardsley tripping Salah during the Guard of Honour was uncalled for!Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Sat Jul 11, 2020 4:56 pmlook how narrow and together our guard of honor was - intimidation before we even kicked off #shithouse !

Re: guard of honour
We should absolutely give the guard of honour for me..
And deserved! Why would anybody dispute it! Best team in the world! And they are
And we took a point

Re: guard of honour
It's standard to offer it to a team that has already won the league. As said, doesn't usually run for so many games but really pleased we did it although not surprised given how respectful our manager is.

If Virgil hadn't been in Liverpools's side we'd have won.

If Sean Dyche hadn't been our manager we'd wouldn't even be playing 'em.kritichris wrote: ↑Sat Jul 11, 2020 10:19 pmIf Virgil hadn't been in Liverpools's side we'd have won.

It's notable, though, how often sides given a guard of honour **** up. On that basis we were right to give them one.

Tbh..... Burnley should have got it at the end.
Re: guard of honour
I agree with you tim. They should have stayed and clapped us off. Absolutely no respect for next years champions.

I certainly am claretblue. I probably will be 'til Wednesday and goodness knows how I'll feel then.
