MIGHTY CLARETS versus wolves owe us 2 points

Post by IanMcL » Wed Jul 15, 2020 1:27 pm

Apologies for posting early. I am sat in Girona Airport and will be in flight at normal posting time.

Colossal match tonight. A 12 pointer, if there could be one!
Our Mighty heroes are itching to qualify for Europe and have exceeded expectations, in the process.

Wolves look OK for Europe, however, we need the points and Sheff U have to fall away.

Madge is ready to fire us into action.

Don’t think Europe is a realistic target. Both teams are in good form and I am expecting a draw but a win would be awesome and well deserved considering the farcical pen at Molineux

Lawro and his opponent, Villa fan Nathan Dawe are both forecasting 2-0 to Wolves.

It's certaimly not going to be easy, especially if Traore plays.

I just keep thinking our lads have to collapse in a heap at some stage after their recent efforts, but they keep on surprising me. Can they do it tonight? It's asking a lot, but who knows?

I would be more than happy with a draw tonight because I have always considered Wolves to be a bit of a bogey team.
In my time watching the Clarets we have played them 80 times and won 21 and drawn 19, therefore losing the other 40 games.

The last couple of days have been a little cooler here in SW Ontario, currently 25 degrees, not a cloud in the sky. High heat and high humidity expected to return Thursday, high of 32, feeling like 40  I'm not too bothered about todays game, one loss in 14 games, our race is run. A draw would be nice though.

Come on lads. :)

We have a heat advisory here in Houston with warning not to go out unless necessary, when coupled with the C-19 advisory I am doing just that, as I have done for some time and will have my lunch with feet up watching the game, taking (obviously well deserved) break from today's work.

Always liked Wolves since a child, I think it's a name thing but they have done very well and like the manager, tough tough game draw says my head but will go with my heart which says 2 - 1 to the Clarets. Will be watching on the TV where we get a lot of coverage during normal times across the PL.

Wood and Pieters.

I expect he'll give minutes to JBG but don't want him crocked again before the new season.

It will be 1.00am here in the Philippines when we kick off against Wolves. Although I have watched a couple of our recent games with a 3.00am PHP kick off time so this is much better

I will be happy with a point tonight and
I believe we will finish off our excellent season with wins against Norwich and Brighton

Burnley XI: Pope, Bardsley, Long, Tarkowski, Taylor, Pieters, Westwood, Brownhill, McNeil, Wood, Rodriguez.

Wolves make four changes to the team that started in their 3-0 win over Everton, with Adama Traore, Joao Moutinho, Ruben Vinagre and Diogo Jota all coming in.

Pedro Neto, Leander Dendoncker, Jonny and Matt Doherty drop to the bench.

Wolves XI: Patrício, Boly, Coady, Saïss, Vinagre, Moutinho, Neves, Traore, Jota, Jiménez, Podence.

I've got us to win 1-0 on Super 6, have some faith, this lot are good, but they're not unbeatable.

Burnley won this fixture 2-0 at Turf Moor last season.

but that is their only top-flight home victory against Wolves since 1963 (D4, L5).

Don't think the players need motivating for this one. That ridiculous decision by the ref at Molineux after we played so well will be motivation enough.

All that and yet the bookies have Wolves as odds on favourites....joke odds tbh for a team unbeaten in 13 games to be 7/2 at home.

Bizarre odds those, i'd have this as a pretty equal contest, certainly wouldn't be backing Wolves at those odds, we're not unbeaten in 13 we lost at City, but we've only lost 1 in 13, and are unbeaten in 6 at home, how they calculate these matches escapes me.

Hi,
we lived in Ayala Alabang just outside Manila during 2013 and have been to the large office that the company I worked for at the time many times over over decades. A colleague I worked closely with for years married a girl he met in our office and we went down for the wedding also, which was great fun. They have had a great life and now have two children enjoying life on a global basis.

We did quite a bit of driving around and enjoyed what I saw plus the people were wonderful in terms of the ones I met but never got to where you are and would like to go back sometime in the near future and see a little more plus maybe a beach stay.

TV producers love Stereotypes / pigeon holes.

If you walk past the ground with a flat cap, eating black puddings while walking your whippet you get filmed!
