Re: Pearson gone.
Some saying they have already picked someone and Chris Hughton is leading the betting. Strange as he was covering the Leicester game on BT Sports today
Re: Pearson gone.
I wouldn't have thought Chris Hughton is so desperate for a job that he has to take Watford. Better jobs - full time, not temporary - should be within his reach, I would have thought.

Re: Pearson gone.
Rumour has it htat Friends Reunited set a date for a reunion of Watford ex-managers at the end of the season. But it's been kyboshed because crowds aren't allowed yet!

Re: Pearson gone.
If I were a Watford fan, I would despair. The owners appointed Pearson to dig them out of a hole. That’s pretty much what he’s done. They are likely to stay up, and that seemed very unlikely when he took the job. What do they expect?
The players seem to have worked hard for him ( with the exception of Gray, who did his best to rat things up with his birthday party).
Pearson has been ill-served by both Watford and Leicester, both of whom he brought back from the apparent brink, only to be sacked.
No class, no integrity, no loyalty. What a club.

What Ranieri doing these days...? At Sampdoria isn’t he...?
Perhaps Watford want to emulate Leicester from a few seasons back...

Re: Pearson gone.
Rumours on the Watford board are that he had a "minor scuffle" with Masina, the left back, at half time in the West Ham game and that someone snitched to the management.
Watford fans tend towards the opinion that he should have taken a baseball bat to several of the players at half time in the West Ham game!

Re: Pearson gone.
Not sure he was ill served by Leicester. He was sacked because he supported his son against the club when his son was rightly sacked along with two other young players for their behaviour on a tour of Thailand. The owners did go on to give him the manager’s job at Leuven, their Belgian club.Middle-agedClaret wrote: ↑Sun Jul 19, 2020 8:42 pmIf I were a Watford fan, I would despair. This should at least give Pearson more time to concentrate on his primary career as a serial killer.

Re: Pearson gone.
If they had thought they were safe they should have been giving him a long contract for getting them there. But they are far from safe. Had Bournemouth won 2-0 today then Watford would now be in a relegation place with games against Man City & Arsenal to come.

Re: Pearson gone.
I know they didn’t but it’s Watford with the most difficult fixtures. Very strange club and has been since the Pozzo family bought it.

Re: Pearson gone.
what if Villa beat West Ham ? Villa have scored more than Watford and conceded more so GD is 4 in Watfords favour, but with City trying to find form and Arsenal playing very well there is every chance that could change.

Re: Pearson gone.
I can see their next manager saying to himself , sign a 4 year contract then take the next 3.8 years off with pay
