The saving would be small change compared to losing the PL money, surely?
But the bonus would be paid if he had kept them up. The owners might be gambling on just about staying up without him.

Brilliant goal, Now Villa, just don't concede.

Could we really finish above Arsenal?

Dare to dream.

Arsnal defender turns back and bends himself away from the ball.

What a strange end to the season we're having.

Burnley finishing above Arsenal could actually happen.

Could have sworn I said that at 8.44 pm. :D

We could also finish above Sheff U.

1-0 Villa at HT. Arsenal haven't managed a shot on target.

They've managed a shot off target, so they're getting nearer.

Bit worrying this Villa out of the relegation zone thing, given they’ve been linked with Dyche. Not sure what I’d prefer, to finish above Arsenal or Villa down?

Villa are beating West Ham on the final day, so it'll need a big win for Watford to finish above Villa, now.

Bad result if we want to keep Dyche. We get a win and finish up on 57 - that’s probably as good as it gets for Dyche at Burnley, if Villa stay up I can seriously see him going there - they will do all they can to get him, I’m certain of that, we’d be relegation favourites again

I think that you're panicking without cause.

Sean's going nowhere. Each day that passes makes me more confident.

Sean's always been big on loyalty, so how could he upsticks and leave a bunch of lads with hearts like ours?

But SD must realise he won't be given time if they sack Dean Smith despite keeping them up.

There is nothing more certain that unless he got them into Europe he'd be out of work

If Villa stay up, then we have to face up to the reality that they have a lot more support, money and potential than us, and that if they come "courting" Dyche he would be mad not to go there.

Isn't it the case though that with the money and resources he's had Smith has come close to disaster, and were it not for a dodgy VAR they could easily be down. Staying up on GD would be way below the expectations of fans and the board back in August.

How many teams have supposedly come after Sean? Apart from the top six, there aren't many who haven't already. (If you listen to the press, that is.)

Things have gone pretty quiet at the Turf and Mike Garlick has said nothing. That's almost certainly because there's nothing to say. Sean will have been given certain assurances and I'm sure he will want to continue building his dynasty.

Watford deserve to go down with the way they’ve run their club. The players are not without their blame as well. Making a stink about restarting and not wanting to “get their families sick”, then they’re all out partying anyway. A year down should get them to refocus their priorities.
