Big Dave's paper review

Post by Fretters » Sun Jul 26, 2020 9:42 am

I still feel lost without it on a Sunday morning. Come on Dave, give us another for old times' sake.

You've been lost for a long time then, it's over five years now since he did it and it was on the old board.

Fretters, feel free to volunteer yourself to do it! Just go to the main sports websites such as Sky Sports and sum up the best bits.

I did consider it but I don't have those levels of commitment!

Did Big Dave go to Slim Dave and then back to Big Dave?

Dave didn’t just pinch the headliners from BBC Gossip and SSN. He picked up on the items tucked away in the corners and then added his own magic.
I miss it as well.

You don’t want to read them today... all about Dyche going to Palace

Exactly. We could all have read BBC gossip but Dave's spin made it what it was.

I do wonder if this summer, considering the short turnaround, would be right for someone like Dyche to be tempted by a move.

I’d also question whether Palace was an attractive enough opportunity.

I feel this might have been destined for a different thread.

How can you recognise when it is Sunday, without Big Dave?

I have missed Sunday's, these last 5 years.

It was in response to Zlatan.

Big D's Sunday Review always added a bit of 'properness' to Sundays.
I miss them too.
Can't believe it's 5 years since it went out of print!

I read BD's Sunday paper review every week, you don't know what you've got til it's gone, as they say.

Big Dave had a superb taste in music I seem to recall. Robert Zimmerman being the top of his list.
