Fairly busy at the Turf, shame the score box conked out. Enjoyed seeing a bit of live sport

As so often before. Beat Bacup by 6 wickets. (And beat Nelson by 8 wickets in a 20-20 on Friday. Return match at Seedhill this Friday.)

Accrington beat East Lancs, courtesy of 6 penalty runs awarded because East Lancs did not complete their overs in time .... 36 wides were included in Accrington's 50 " extras " out of their total of 158/9 .....the next highest scorer was 21 !!

It’s no wonder that they couldn't bowl their overs in time, with having to bowl 6 overs extra due to the 36 wides!

It wouldn't have been 36 extra balls, because almost certainly some of them would have been 2 or 5 wides off one ball.

2 b, 2 lb, 4 nb, 36 w, 6 pen - official scorecard.

What I would like to know is why Accrington had their target raised to 156 because the match had been reduced to 39 overs though East Lancs only batted for 39 in the 1st place?

Duckworth Lewis method. East Lancs must have started the innings expecting 40 overs and lost one on the way.
