Re: Pre Season
Is there any point announcing if nobody can attend?
Re: Pre Season
Dyche said they might try to get away to Portugal but that looks unlikely at the moment. Probably be behind closed doors against the likes of Stanley, Preston, them down the road etc.

Re: Pre Season
The pre-season, had it been normal, had all but been finalised at the beginning of the year. But things have changed, it's likely that they will play any pre-season games without any publicity because they will all be behind closed doors.

Re: Pre Season
I'd imagine they'll be more local sides, Preston, Bolton and the likes.
Interesting because Pre-Season isn't just for the players, it's for the club to prepare too within the stadium etc getting most things ready for the league games. So for the home games, I reckon they might do a live commentary on ClaretsPlayer or something with the match being played behind closed doors.

Re: Pre Season
Obviously the U18 tournament over here hasn't happened this year, which is a shame. Hopefully the lads will return next year.

Was 2017 and 2019 when they were there, I hadn't heard anything about this year at all.ZizkovClaret wrote: ↑Mon Aug 03, 2020 5:04 pmObviously the U18 tournament over here hasn't happened this year, which is a shame. Hopefully the lads will return next year.

Re: Pre Season
I'd got the impression it was kiboshed pretty quickly. It would make sense to do every other year i guess to ensure its largely a different group that does it.
That said, Everton have been regulars and were due to take part again.
Announcement of postponement was made end of May, but i suspect several teams would have already given back word by then.

Re: Pre Season
Remember watching those games on rerun at 5am after coming in from night shift. Glass of Bourbon in hand and being seriously underwhelmed by someone called Dwight McNeillClaretTony wrote: ↑Mon Aug 03, 2020 5:16 pmWas 2017 and 2019 when they were there, I hadn't heard anything about this year at all.

Re: Pre Season
It would be nice if the club could perhaps broadcast some of the behind closed doors friendlies via Clarets Player or YouTube, when they have been sorted out.

Re: Pre Season
Could try and get some glamour games against foreign opposition in, but Swansea and Cardiff are in high demand
