Ryan Fraser
Ryan Fraser
Being reported to have been offered a contract at Palace worth 50k a week. You’d think that would be within our range? Especially on a free as well. Would he be a good answer to our right midfield problems?
Re: Ryan Fraser
Seem to recall some story about Arsenal showing interest during last season which had turned his head away from the plight of Bournemouth

Re: Ryan Fraser
He actually went public around January and admitted he’d been so brassed off at not getting a move that he hadn’t been playing for the team. Cracking attitude that.

In fairness if you had to pick bones regarding player attitudes, you would be left with a very narrow selection especially factoring the finances in.

Re: Ryan Fraser
Not for me. He had a strop at Sunderland when he had found out he wasn’t getting an early move to Liverpool but other than that it’s hard to find a reason to criticise him.

Fraser was heavily linked to Everton originally.
Zaha will undoubtedly be sold this Summer so no doubt he's in the frame as a replacement.

You could see it in our game away at theirs. He was incredibly poor and so sub-par in comparison with what we've seen previously from him.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Aug 05, 2020 6:26 pmHe actually went public around January and admitted he’d been so brassed off at not getting a move that he hadn’t been playing for the team. After seeing how little he tried for them this season I wouldn't want him at my club no matter which club I supported.

It is certainly the opinion of a lot of Bournmouth fans that he did not perform and really upset the apple cart when he didn't get away.
He just added to their problems.

Sean wouldn’t touch him, even though he clearly has talent. This lad is not a team player as demonstrated before he left the Cherries.

No. He should've honoured his contract and respected his fellow professionals, his team mates. Fair enough he's been honest... but he's let everyone down, not least himself. There will be a time he reflects and accepts that.Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Wed Aug 05, 2020 6:48 pmWe can't be having honesty in football.

Re: Ryan Fraser
The point I was making CT (not aimed at you btw) was the fickle nature of some fans (whodathunkit).
Danny Ings throws a strop at not getting his move and is widely judged as being a great player for BFC. Tarkowski refused to train, as I recall, to agitate for his move to Burnley. Joey fell out with Rangers to a spectacular level.
Fraser does the same for Bournemouth and it’s a ‘wouldn’t touch him with a barge pole‘ mentality.
Tevez is the greatest similar example - One minute video’d on the golf course, agitating for a move and disowned by his club. The next a citeh hero when he comes back to win them the title. Hilarious.
Back to the subject - If Dyche wanted him, I’d be delighted to have him as a BFC player.

I had a 20 minute conversation with him 2-3 years ago in a Glasgow hotel. He said he could never play for Dyche because he didn't like his style of football.
I did though get the impression that he would play for anyone if the money was right.

He's an unreliable player is Fraser. Great when he turns up, but that's not too regular.
Don't know about him not wanting Dyche, I doubt Dyche would be wanting him.

Re: Ryan Fraser
Flatters to deceive. He had one season of success at Bournemouth then got injured.
When he recovered he looked off the pace and clearly the way he treated Eddie isnt what we need in any of our signings.Interesting comparison with Drinky re attitude by a previous poster.

Re: Ryan Fraser
Attitude aside, which has been at best unprofessional; at worst disgraceful. He's predominantly left sided and certainly no better than Taylor or McNeil. So no idea why we'd be interested when we have more pressing areas of the field that need improving.

Re: Ryan Fraser
Liverpool and Arsenal were early mentions for being interested, then it was tied on he was going to Everton. Now it seems he has the choice of Palace or Fulham.
Be nice to think his attitude has played a part in this as well as amusing if he ends up on less money than he would have got at Bournemouth

And, according to Bournemouth fans, he's been offered less by Palace than he was offered by Bournemouth 2 years ago.claretonthecoast1882 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 06, 2020 8:25 amLiverpool and Arsenal were early mentions for being interested, then it was tied on he was going to Everton. Re: Ryan Fraser
90% of footballers (yes, i'm being kind) have no affiliation to any football club and are always looking for a bigger career move. It's very common that footballers don't want to play in games when it could scupper their move.
Even the tough as old boots Dean Marney and Arfield didn't want to go on the pitch for 10 minutes to say good bye to the fans when leaving.
I wouldn't get wound up about it.

Only way clubs begin to regain some control over player and agent power is if they form some moral codes not to sign players that act unprofessionally or run down contracts.Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Thu Aug 06, 2020 12:28 amYou could add Drinkwater into the mixer, so that's 2 within a relatively short space of time, granted Drinkwater being a loan was easier to offload, it comes in 3s due another bad apple to be fair.

Re: Ryan Fraser
Not aware of Tarkowski ever refusing to train although he didn't play against us because of the problems he was having getting his move, a move that Brentford had promised him so he could get back to the NW closer to his mum. Ings had one bad day at Sunderland and I think the problem at Rangers was more them not being able to deal with Joey.Darthlaw wrote: ↑Wed Aug 05, 2020 8:49 pmThe point I was making CT (not aimed at you btw) was the fickle nature of some fans (whodathunkit).

Fraser came out and said he'd not been playing for the team for the previous six months - something very different.

Re: Ryan Fraser
I understand what you are saying but most of the time things usually start off sweet & then turn sour & sometimes with no warning or indication what will happen, some clubs wanting a bargain would chance signing a loose cannon anyway hoping the gamble pays off.

I didn’t say it will ever happen, but I won’t have any sympathy for clubs until they do try to wrestle back some control. With all the various PL meetings they hold, votes they have, etc, you would imagine it’s possible.
