Whatever happened to that agreement that clubs would only change shirts every two seasons? I remember a big campaign and a lot of publicity around it and then it seemed to disappear.

Clubs got round it by having cup shirts and the likes. We were told four years ago by our chief exec that we would never have more than two shirts in a year but even he got overruled on that and we were soon up to three. Played in four different shirts this year with the one off white shirt at West Ham.

Three again next season apparently with sadly, in my view, no white.

I do see the understanding behind this but I’d be buying the same kit twice for my kids if that was the case as they’d outgrow it after each season.

I don’t agree with releasing three new kits a season though, keep an away for the alternative if needed the season after. We could easily keep the green or blue as a third kit next season. This obviously manufacturer and sponsor permitting.

They used to release the home kit one season and the away kit the next I think (although thinking about it I'm not sure how that worked with different sponsors and manufacturers).

The last multi season shirt was the quartered Adidas one in 1996/97 and 1997/98

We had different away shirts for these seasons. The white with fading blue stripes and the yellow with claret sleeves

1998/99 Sponsor changed to P3 with Adidas
1999/00 Maker changed to Super League with P3
Then we didn’t have a sponsor

Anyone else notice that Villa were allowed to play in green and black at West Ham? How come we weren’t?

The official line was that it was that people complained to BT Sport that those that were colour blind were unable to differentiate between the players of Liverpool (in red) and Villa (in the green/black)

Never seemed to be an issue when I was growing up, mind you they were quite baggy in the 90s so you'd probably get longer out of them.

That is simply not the case because I knew the week before that Liverpool v Villa game that we would be wearing white at West Ham.

With colour clashes, teams tend to have a 'dark' kit and a 'light' kit - which I thought was to aid the visually impaired... or cynically speaking - just a way to market away shirts.

I’m not absolutely sure but it appears in the NFL all away shirts are white and all home shirts are not. Simple way to sort it... though I’m sure spurs would not be happy.

The badge is the badge for me and it shouldn't be changed to blend in with the colour of the shirt.

Not that I'm overly fussed personally but why are we so late at things like this? Other Premier League clubs were actually wearing their new kits and/or training gear when football returned in June and almost all Premier League clubs have at the very least released a picture of their new kits and are taking pre-orders. Big opportunity for shirt sales missd by BFC?

The clubs that started wearing the new kits at the restart were those that had new sponsor deals that commenced at start of June

We always seem to have a delay in releasing & selling it.
Peak time for sales is usually before people go on holiday (not that that’s happening this year) yet always feels like we seem to wait until the week before the season starts

Home kits have been out at the start of July (July 9th at latest)for the last six years. Away kits have been much later and into August.

Not sure on the delay this season however. Think it’s only us, Palace, Fulham and Leeds in the Premier League who have yet to officially reveal their home kits for next season.

They’ve got a big exclusive here though

Details of the new strip have yet to be confirmed but rumours persist that it will be predominantly claret with blue sleeves, as it was 100 years ago.

Burnley's new kit is set to be announced in the coming weeks ahead of the 2020-21 Premier League season.

No official launch date has been set and it won't be out this week but fans will get their glimpse of the new strip this month.

Still no news
Even LancsLive are fed up of waiting now and have asked somebody to do a concept kit (at least it’s got the right sponsor & maker)

I’m probably in the minority, but I like the badge background blended into the shirt. The change is make to the badge would be that it was fully embroidered as opposed to it looking like it’s been ironed on.

A few years ago, might have been the tin foil kit, we changed the badge to match the shirt colour. The club confirmed it wouldn’t happen again but it has several times.

The badge should be the badge.

Apparently the modern kit “market” has gotten away from us, so they’ve asked a couple of local ladies to hand knit them.

I’m told that they’ve just finished number 6 and should be starting number 7 on Monday once they’ve collected their pensions and picked up their prescriptions.

I love it that style. Wouldn’t like it on the home kit, and prefer the old one in general, but think it looks more modern on the away and 3rd kits (by way of some variation).

Apparently the modern kit “market” has gotten away from us, so they’ve asked a couple of local ladies to hand knit them.

I’m told that they’ve just finished number 6 and should be starting number 7 on Monday once they’ve collected their pensions and picked up their prescriptions.
 I hope they don’t have to start shielding & half production!

As said earlier on in the thread, it looks horrible when the badges change colour to match the colour of the shirt. I would go as far to say that it doesn't feel like a burnley shirt when they do such a thing. It's not just at Burnley where it's done though. I've seen it on West ham shirts, and just last week Brentford did it with their away shirt. Looks terrible and takes a bit of the identity away from the shirts imo. No doubt other clubs do it also.

I prefer the badge on the left as it is what i grew up with and supported. But I do understand that others grew up with the badge on the Right

Really surprised by the dislike for them - especially since it’s not the original badge anyway - albeit I generally prefer plainer, simpler, less colours on any clothing. The yellow border, claret & blue, white logo, etc just looks too messy to me, like a child has coloured it in using all his crayons. Not to say I’d want to change it on the home kit, but changing it on one of the three doesn’t seem too offensive to me. As you say, all clubs do it now to offer some variety and distinguishing features (I imagine).

Each to their own but the badge should be non negotiable imo. Also the badge to the left or the picture posted a few posts back I also grew up with and prefer too however even then I wouldn't want the colours messing about with. Same applies to any other football kit. Just boring and predictable.
