Are those sleeves our cunning attempt to fool VAR on handball appeals? Claret = shoulder so no handball?

Re: New Home Kit 2020/21
At this point, we know we arent going to get rid of big daft sponsors logos, so if we are to "celebrate" kits from anniversaries, why not release a "toffs" style as a supporter shirt and let the new kits be new kits, ideally helping the logo to look less conspicuous.

Re: New Home Kit 2020/21
A great looking strip ruined by that hideous oversized logo imo
Re: New Home Kit 2020/21
The sleeves are ridiculous and the logo is far too big, with the standard, cheap iron on type plastic crap.
So near and yet so far away from being a nice shirt.

Logo's spoil all shirts big or small but they pay millions to have it put on, so we have to put up with it.
Everyone moans its crap yet 1000s are sold lol
I like the 100 year link, a very nice touch

I liked both of last seasons. Opted to buy the green 1 though.
Re: New Home Kit 2020/21
Sounds ominous. No yellow or white away kit then.

Did we pay someone to take that photograph or did one of the club shop staff use their iPhone?

Sadly, that's the way it is these days. The Enclosure wrote: ↑Fri Aug 14, 2020 12:05 pmWithout the logo that would have been a great shirt.....
Re: New Home Kit 2020/21
Little point in garnering any interest in new kits these days. They are invariably all awful and the huge, horrible betting logos that seem to be plastered across every shirt is a massive eyesore.
Hopefully the training wear is okay because I have been known to buy a top/ jumper for my sports evenings. We'll see.

Love the shirt and the sentiment behind it. None of us like the logo but afraid they’re here to stay for the time being.

So, bfcmik had it right in his photos posted on the other new kits thread on 19th July.
Theyve gone with the cheap rag! I wonder where the sweat shop that made that is located.
Hideous thing.

I hope they haven't gone in the same direction for the away kit...

Says claptrappers using the club’s usual choice of word. I really do think that you do a replica rather than a nod, then it’s much better.claptrappers_union wrote: ↑Fri Aug 14, 2020 1:16 pmSo it was a nod to the first Championship winning kit all along

Re: New Home Kit 2020/21
Sorry that I used the same word, how about homage or recall or a throwback - happy to use those in future
In my opinion, if the blue band around the collar was thicker, the material was different and it was a plain design without the badge or logos - then, to me - that's a replica. Toffs make replicas, they take like-for-like design and reproduce it.
Also, the Ribero shirts from 1992 in the club shop - the claret colour looks off to me, and the material feels cheaper and Endsleigh logo is printed into the shirt rather than applied - there are a few differences, but its a replica - it's almost a direct copy. Its a 'Zombie' - that's a recreation of product where the original is no-longer manufactured, sometimes using the same original branding - you tend to see this with retro games consoles and the like and electrical goods - like Polaroid cameras
A nod, as the club use, is when you borrow elements and inspiration of an old design and implement it to into something new. I believe this is the case.
Tony, give me your opinion, look at the images below - I'm just interested
A) "Nod'
B) Replica
C) None of the above

Re: New Home Kit 2020/21
I’ve previously said I prefer us to get as close as we can to the original as we did in 2009.
Not got a clue why you have Norwich kits on your post.
Regarding the 1992 shirts in the shop. We used to do a really good one but the ones I saw in there recently were shocking. But I’m not on about those, more having current kits recognising a past achievement, something we got absolutely right in 2009 right down to the black shorts on the away kit.

I think the recent kit is a 'nod' to the 90's shirt.

Well that is really underwhelming. I wasn’t expecting some frivolous or flashy, but I was expecting a lot more than that. Year and year the concepts we see floating around are worlds better than the final product. I’ll save my money this time around. Pass.

Re: New Home Kit 2020/21
Apart from the massive sponsorship, I like it.
Luckily, I consider myself too old for replica kits, but the logo-less one will suit my little-in.
