Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Do you seriously believe that we can go toe-to-toe with the best in the Premier League/Europe/The World by playing in the same style as Man City? Norwich tried that.....which worked out really well for them. My suggestion to you would be not to watch the games if you hate the way we play. Do something else with your time that doesn't make you miserable, maybe?
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Not renewing so don't worry I will be doing and I expect to be entertained not put to sleep.Jakubs Tash wrote: ↑Sat Aug 22, 2020 1:44 pmDo you seriously believe that we can go toe-to-toe with the best in the Premier League/Europe/The World by playing in the same style as Man City? Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Is it entertaining getting hammered 4 or 5 nil every week? No it’s rather depressing . Beating United 2-0 on the other hand is absolutely brilliant
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
I sometimes think some posters on here need a reality check. Where we have come from and where we are now is fantastic. We get to see some of the best players in the world that we can never afford play on our own pitch and often give them a tough game. Give me this any day before the lower league stuff we used to endure.

Hook, line, sinker and copy of Angling Times.
Poor effort mind you. How anyone can choose not to watch a club Burnley's size, while claiming to be a fan, in the Premier League is astounding. My guess is it is indeed a fishing trip, probably by some butt-headed muppet like Saxo looking for attention.
I'm giving it no more thought.

Is there a thread on this forum about transfer rumours. I'm struggling to find one

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Easily bored then. Simply fantastic watching us competing against the best teams in the country. I find it astonishing that we are currently enjoying our club’s best days in half a century and fans don’t enjoy it. Not sure I believe your suggestion that many won’t be renewing at all.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Anyone who doesn’t enjoy it now probably never will. Don’t like the club losing fans but there are always other clubs to support (Most of them outside of the top ten in the Premier League). Alternatively there are armchairs to sit in when sky is on
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
These last 20 years have been fantastic for us as a club as we have taken two to three massive forward steps a few sideways and the odd one backwards and in the last 7 seasons what the hell is there to complain about on the pitch given our resources compared with the rest of teams in the Premier League and many in the Championship.
Just look at where we were in late 1998 with no wins in ?10 games, the state of the pitch ground and Gawthorpe and see us now. FANTASTIC.
Won't last forever but it has happened and lasted far longer than I thought it would especially after we appointed first Owen Coyle (who is he?) and later that none entity and clearly cheap option Sean Dyche

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
We may not always play the most exciting attacking football - it would be folly to attempt it against many of the teams in this division - but we have our fair share of decent plays, nice goals and phases of passing.
Appreciating football isn’t just about having to see goals though. I think it’s difficult not to appreciate how well our team defends, in fact I’d go as far to say that we are up there with some of the best in the division. That’s something to be proud of (amongst many things).
Fair enough if you just want attacking play, but for me, there’s a lot more to appreciate about the game than just that.

I appreciate how good we are defensively I think we are fantastic but it's been like that since dyche came in and seeing the same thing year on year just drags tbh but hey that's my opinion doesn't make me right.DCWat wrote: ↑Sat Aug 22, 2020 4:27 pmWe may not always play the most exciting attacking football - it would be folly to attempt it against many of the teams in this division - but we have our fair share of decent plays, nice goals and phases of passing.

Don’t know why you think it drags. What we’ve done in the last four years since the last promotion is beyond anything I could have ever dared hope.

It certainly beats getting dicked at Torquay and Exeter, still, whatever floats your boat.

Never felt like it. Always two different distances coming home from away games depending on the result.

The aim of football is to win. If you’d rather watch Burnley lose 6-5 against Grimsby a league lower in the name of entertainment then football isn’t your sport.

That was unbelievable that night. If ever a game said goals doesn’t mean good football then that was it.

It drags because we're sat defending our box for the past 5 years and it ain't all that entertaining.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sat Aug 22, 2020 4:42 pmDon’t know why you think it drags. What we’ve done in the last four years since the last promotion is beyond anything I could have ever dared hope.

Would you prefer us not to defend it and concede goals for fun like we did the first time we went up? What we do I enjoy. I never thought I’d ever witness anything as good as this again.

I have no doubt SD shares the great Brian Clough philosophy of "if the opposition don't score , then they can't beat us". The team has often found a way to win despite less possession. I think that the number of Internationals we have created is a great credit to this team.Surviving in the PL league is a massive result for our club, and would not want us to change what we are good at if it means PL survival

I think a lot of people are being a bit mean here. I can well believe that "many" people who sit near you have said they are not renewing. Whether they take STs elsewhere in the stadium is another matter.

I hate to break the trend and provide a link but, Omar Colley 27 year old defender from Sampdoria linked with us Southampton and Newcastle.

So I'm told anyway.
