Storm Francis ....

Post by Clarets4me » Tue Aug 25, 2020 11:57 pm

Wind and a fairly steady stream of rain of varying intensity in Ightenhill today, 1.25 inches of rain ( 32mm ) in the 24 hours from 10 pm last night ... 3.4 inches ( 86mm ) recorded in Keswick today. Luckily, we are blessed with United Utilities, a firm guaranteed to dispose of water at a rate of knots ! ;)

Anybody had a bad time of it ?

Been non stop since this afternoon in Chester.

Had a couple of bad days last week too so hopefully this isn’t a sign of things to come

Must have been bad overnight. I know it's unusual to get storms this bad in August when trees still have their full compliment of leaves. Sad to see a few dead birds amongst quite a lot of debris and branches on the morning dog walk.
