Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
I read somewhere atletico madrid said he could go but only for what they paid for him €20 million, so £18 million or thereabouts for a 29yr old, we are talking only Villa or West Ham or Palace will spunk that kind of money but not us and I would love him back, but not at that price.

May I be the first.
"Looks like Chelsea are getting Donnaruma (think that’s how you spell it) from Ac Milan"
So named after allegedly accidentally leaving the Italian and forgetting to pay.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Re: Tripps, have to ask yourself why he would leave a Champions League club/contender, playing in one of the worlds best stadia in a great city/climate? Only two reasons I can think of:
1. COVID - presumably much harder now for him/his family to travel between countries. May be a factor if he or his family are not really settled there.
2. Athletico want to sell. Unlikely, but not impossible given he’s been rotated with another RB and they presumably have some financing to pay on an empty stadium.
If there’s a route to get him it would be an amazing signing, but don’t want to get all sentimental in two years when his contract expires but he’s too old to really do a job for us.

Just for clarity on tour statement can you confirm if you were one of those that thought that 10m for Jayrod was too much or that 20m for and "injury prone" Danny Ings was ridiculous?CnBtruntru wrote: ↑Fri Aug 28, 2020 8:08 pmI read somewhere atletico madrid said he could go but only for what they paid for him €20 million, so £18 million or thereabouts for a 29yr old, we are talking only Villa or West Ham or Palace will spunk that kind of money but not us and I would love him back, but not at that price.
I know a lot on here were of one or both those opinions along with others like Barton being part it etc, so I'd just like to know.
Personally I reckon 20m for Trppis (potentially for 5 years) would be awesome business.

Too old to do a job when he’ll be years younger than Bardsley is now?

Bad choice of words perhaps.
I would say Bardsleys job is back up to Lowton? I wouldn’t really want to sign Trippier on what would be a huge wage to be a back up #2.
I’d love to re-sign him, just whilst he’d add to the first team. Imagine when he said he would like to re-join he meant when he’s done in Spain, which is a bit late in my opinion (sadly).

If we are likely to enjoy possession more i see Lowts in the side. If we are likely to be defending for much of the 90, i see Bardo in the side. I definitely don't see one as back up for the other as their games are different.
Personally, i think Bardo is the better option REGARDLESS of what the opposition is, but i'm not the manager.

That is how I would play it but SD doesn’t. He goes with one until injury or very poor form forces them out then he goes wi’t’other.

Well, 1 year 3 months.
My point was more that in 2 years time, when Trippier becomes a free agent, he’ll be 32 and in exactly the position we will be in 9 months time with Lowton - too old for a modern PL right back to be playing every week and really impacting games in the way say Charlie does now. Nothing wrong with that, both have had fantastic careers.

It’s true that Trippier isn’t at his peak, but at 29 he will still have a good few years left in him. He’s younger than Lowton and he’s better than Lowton, a lot better. I can’t see this happening at all, but if we could make it happen it should be a no brainier. He’s the perfect fit for the team and would be an immediate fans favourite.NewClaret wrote: ↑Fri Aug 28, 2020 10:59 pmWell, 1 year 3 months.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Can see your point. Hard to know how Dyche sees them as they’ve both had injuries and runs in the team. Like you, I personally prefer Bardsley but think he’s adapted his game to being purely defensive and do worry a bit when he’s up against a pacey winger. He’s great at jockying them but once they’re past they’ve gone. At 35 you’ve got to imagine he’ll increasingly become be Lowton's understudy?bobinho wrote: ↑Fri Aug 28, 2020 9:41 pmI would say Bardsleys job is different to Lowtons...

Seems a top bloke so hope we keep him in some capacity when he retires from playing.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Think we’re agreeing. I said great signing if we can get him now, at 29/30. Not so much at 32 as he’d be a very expensive man to have on the books, with presumably declining form. Hope he wants to rejoin while he is still near his peak because he’d complete our back 5, but suspect he’s more considering it a final pay day after Spain.Rileybobs wrote: ↑Fri Aug 28, 2020 11:07 pmIt’s true that Trippier isn’t at his peak, but at 29 he will still have a good few years left in him. Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
If you had bothered to read my post I would like Tripps back at Burnley, but Burnley FC will not pay £18 million for a shortly to be 30 year old, I would have loved Ings to stay, he left of his own free will, Jayrod worth every penny we paid, so I don't know why I upset you with my post, that was just my opinion.Goobs wrote: ↑Fri Aug 28, 2020 8:49 pmJust for clarity on tour statement can you confirm if you were one of those that thought that 10m for Jayrod was too much or that 20m for and "injury prone" Danny Ings was ridiculous?

Can you imagine how many more goals Wood and Jay would get with Tripps crossing from the right? Our left wing looks really dangerous going forward when its Taylor & McNeil playing, the right not so much, bringing in Tripps would go some way to balancing that and we'd have a serious threat on both sides of the pitch. Would love to see Trippier back in a Burnley shirt.

If there's any hope of re-signing Kirean Trippier (the best player that played for our club in my 30 years watching us, by an absolute landslide) then we should move heaven and earth to make it happen. I can't think of a better way of galvanising the fans and squad than a club legend re joining Dyche's regime. Come on Kieran, you know it makes sense.

I think we would pay potentially up to £20m IF Dyche really wanted him and IF wages were realistic to our squad.Sadly I expect we'll not see him back but if that means no big losses and improvements made in the areas that desperately need it then I'll be happy enough.

I don’t get this love in for Charlie as an attacking threat. A one fingered man could count his assists on one hand. Not the player he was at Leeds that most were raving about for his attacking.buzzclarets79 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 29, 2020 12:28 amCan you imagine how many more goals Wood and Jay would get with Tripps crossing from the right? Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Taylor is a fine bull back going both ways and we would do well to replace him with someone of a similar standard if he was to leave .
Counting assists is an odd one given that direct assists are calculated in an unjust manor in my opinion , for example a cross which deflects and bounces around etc etc will not result in an assist being awarded , he also plays very well with Dwight .
If we can’t afford Trippier in this window which would make us a threat from both flanks , I’d like to see Eliasson brought in on what should be a relatively cheap deal given his contract situation, he has decent delivery which suits our game .

That’s just not true. His assists may be few and far between but he carries us up the pitch, wins corners and free kicks in dangerous positions, which we’re notoriously clinical from, and creates space for and links with our biggest attacking threat McNeill.huw.Y.WattfromWare wrote: ↑Sat Aug 29, 2020 10:25 amI don’t get this love in for Charlie as an attacking threat. Very fair point. Think it’s that he gets forward and links up with Dwight so well, which is just a massive contrast to what happens on our right hand side. We’re an easy bunch to please. There’s definitely some room for improvement on end product.huw.Y.WattfromWare wrote: ↑Sat Aug 29, 2020 10:25 amI don’t get this love in for Charlie as an attacking threat. As great a season we’ve just had, do wonder if Dyche sits down with players & discusses these small areas/targets for improvement in each player. Pope - kicking, Tarks - distribution, Taylor - assists/goals, Wood - remaining onside etc, etc.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
I would, bring him home on a four year deal taking him to retirement, 10 million in wages 18 million in transfer fee's a total of 28 million, 7 million a season, the goals he could supply (last season in La Liga he had 4 assist in just 25 games) and score could give us around an exrta 10 points and that could possibly take us up the league two or three places each season (2 million for each place higher) bringing in more mony for finishing higher, that in itself pays back a lot of what he would cost us, on average his assist record per game average over the last few season's is higher than McNeil's, and that is unbelievable for a right back against a winger, both player's at Burnley attacking down opposite wings supplying our front line would be fantastic to watch.CnBtruntru wrote: ↑Fri Aug 28, 2020 8:08 pmI read somewhere atletico madrid said he could go but only for what they paid for him €20 million, so £18 million or thereabouts for a 29yr old, we are talking only Villa or West Ham or Palace will spunk that kind of money but not us and I would love him back, but not at that price.
