I actually haven’t seen a proper link to Matty Cash. Seen Maehle and Adam Smith, and Bogle in previous windows.

How much crap can one person spout? We've finished 7th and 10th in the last three seasons and it's clear to a blind man on a galloping horse that this club is moving forward, in our own way. The sensible way.Honestly think this board is going to get us relegated at some point, earlier than we expect, we’ve lost 4 first team players to contracts, we’ve had a lot of starters injured and we’ve hardly had a link with anything in it, we’ve got targets like Mæhle and Bogle waiting to move

Tough one to unpack for me that. The guy is complaining about us not signing Cash, whilst also mentioning two other players he wants for the same position. That being said Dyche has himself said he “can’t keep pulling rabbits out of the hat”. We do need to think about the right back position and I think we need a long term solution, both the current options are north of 30.FactualFrank wrote: ↑Wed Sep 02, 2020 2:26 pmI just read a reply to that tweet...

Links with Adam Smith a week or so ago suggest we’re getting down to options 4/5 on our list rather than 1, 2 or even 3.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
I think we really do. “This team finished 7th” was the line two years ago - few injuries and no Dwight McNeil had us almost bottom and losing 5-1 at home to Everton with a 5 at the back. I don’t think we’d have survived without McNeil, an exceptional talent, stepping up from the academy.FactualFrank wrote: ↑Wed Sep 02, 2020 2:40 pmI don't expect much action until early October, but are we really desperate for new players? 2 crocked wingers for the most part, no evidence that they will suddenly remain fit and find form. We are a couple of injuries short of having the kids on the bench, Dyche was clearly annoyed with that situation 5 or 6 weeks ago - nothing has changed. We are 2-3 players short of where I feel we need to be.FactualFrank wrote: ↑Wed Sep 02, 2020 2:40 pmI don't expect much action until early October, but are we really desperate for new players? 7th and 10th are history, Frank. We are built on a solid defence and pinching a goal most games. Going into a season with Mee and Cork doubtful is worrying.FactualFrank wrote: ↑Wed Sep 02, 2020 2:26 pmHow much crap can one person spout? B’mouth were relegated because of injuries and with our squad the same could happen to us.
We have an excellent first X1 and decent cover but the cover needs an upgrade.

Our transfer policy over the last couple of years have left us in this situation where we have the oldest squad in the league and has not been addressed for too long now - this could be the season we struggle and drop

You might want to check the actual results from last season - thats just a daft thing to say.
As for 7th and 10th being “history” - what else are you supposed to go off ? The future ?
We will at some point get relegated - just like 90% plus of the teams ever to have played in the Premier League. No doubt you’ll be in the “told you so” brigade but let me save you the job and tell you now that it’s going to happen and you might aswell enjoy it whilst you can.

And we could lower the average age substantially just by giving squad numbers to more U18s and 23s.
What does it prove?

SD has always had a experienced players in his teams - I’m not sure in the 8 years he had been here that the average age of our team has changed much.
2 promotions and however many years in arguably the strongest league in the world - not to mention generating upwards of half a billion revenue for the club, building a state of the art new training ground, and the club being able to more than double the number of people employs.
just think how well we would have done if SD had the first clue as to what he was doing !

But buying a player who is 21 comes at a very very expensive price. There's a massive premium.

Do you usually list the u18/u23/development signings In the transfer post?

Always list the signings recognised by the Premier League as confirmed signings. Definitely wouldn't included u18s.

We only scored more than 1 in 11 of 38, vice versa we scored 1 or less in 27, so I’m quite happy to say we pinch a goal.
You can’t go off the future but you prepare for it. All three of our starting CBs are injured. Tarks is supposedly minor but nobody has a clue about Ben Mee or Kevin Long.
BTW I am as positive as most on here but I can see trouble ahead. I mentioned B’mouthks injuries earlier but I’ve lived long enough to see many decent sides relegated because of a run if injuries, this is what worries me.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
The Premier Leagues top clubs are making a second concerted push to have the 5 substitutes rule implemented at Thursday's shareholder meeting with the smaller one's digging in against it. It is understood that some of the big clubs have attempted to lobby the smaller clubs over recent days to get the required vote swing. The smaller clubs would most definitely be at a competitive disadvantage should the 5 substitutes rule be implemented.

I'm really proud of our defensive stats.
Unfortunately we haven't rotated the squad (perhaps we really are not strong enough to), so the gap between stand-ins and regulars is a bit too big.I guess injuries could derail us, but we've had bad starts with everyone fit.
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
I really don’t care about style of play. It isn’t artistic gymnastics. Results are all that matter game by game, and players should be selected on their cost vs their ability to contribute to results (and how long they can be expected to do that for).
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
What you are saying assumes that we did actually “pinch” a goal in those games which I’m assuming is to suit the point you are trying to make - ie that we were lucky lots of times.huw.Y.WattfromWare wrote: ↑Wed Sep 02, 2020 5:24 pmWe only scored more than 1 in 11 of 38, vice versa we scored 1 or less in 27, so I’m quite happy to say we pinch a goal.

Firstly a number of those games were draws - we drew 0-0 for example v Arsenal and 1-1 v Spurs at home and in both games we were excellent....there was no “pinching” of goals and we were unlucky in both not to win.
Then there are those games where we won 1-0 and fully deserved it.
The way we play is to soak up an element of pressure but try and restrict teams to getting to the bi-line. We are happy to defend set pieces or shots from the edge of the box because we are very good at that. Even in games where we have comfortably won by 2 or 3 we can have less possession than the opposition.
No team can consistently “pinch” goals as you are suggesting over a number of years and finish with 54 points twice.
